“the worst hotel in gatwick”
on arrival for our over night stay i was a bit put out at the amount of cars parked around the hotel and the lack of spaces, when i eventually parked up in a back area of the hotel carpark that was a muddy pot holed rain filled area at the back of the hotel my wife and 2 young sons of which i had to carry so they would at least stay clean! found ourselves greeted by other guests trying to book into their rooms only to be told that as their booked holiday car parking was not available and that they would have to drive to gatwick north terminal and catch a shuttle bus back!! after a 40 minute wait we were not greeted and booked in by a member of staff with a full cold muttering under breath about how miserable the customers were tonight! we then were told our room was behind the bar "over there" to which we then spent a further 15 mins looking for as there no signs showing the way. the room was a joke..wallpaper peeling off the wall.light fitting hanging off the wall, balcony rotten and falling apart and my favourite and huge hole in the cieling that had a piece of undressed plaster board shoved in it obviously a huge flood in the room going by the watermarks on the paintwork!! after being awoken at 4am by the guests leaving walls are paper thin we ventured out for what was described as breakfast £6 and a trip to the toilet later we checked out of the hotel by the same heavily sneezing member of staff who has kindly passed on her cold to my family! NEVER stay at this hotel
“Perfect Overnight Stay”
I needed somewhere to stay in between flights and chose this hotel. It was great. I got the free shutle there, which is 5 pounds to go back to Gatwick. The staff was very friendly. The room was small but I wasn't looking to throw a party so it didn't matter. It was very quiet in the room, it felt like no one else was there but there were lots of people at the bar when I first arrived so I knew I wasn't actually the only one. I will definitely be staying there in between flights on my way back.
“Not impressed”
The hotel is very tired overall, but it is not the reason why we wouldn.t recommend it. We stayed three nights, and after we left the room the first day, however we said, we didn't need to service our room, a housekeeper cleaned it, and he/she left the door open!!!! It might have been open all day long, we arrived back in the middle of night. Fortunately nothing wass missing, but everyone could have got into our room easily...We were not happy at all.
“never go to this hotel, bad customer service, very rude, rooms were cold”
I booked this hotel with my flight together, i got there at 8 am and the me an receptionist told me she can not check me in till 2 pm, even though they had rooms. then at 2 pm after 7 hours of waiting they gave me a small size room that i didnt book, i was very upset and asked for the hotel manager that never showed up, after a long fight with the receptionist finally i got the room that i booked. room was cold no good heating system, there was an iron from 1972, that wouldnt even heat up. the hair dryer was 30 years old. room and sitting area were not clean. i called the room service to request an iron, he was very impolite and interrupted me 3 times before i say what i want. DO NOT GET THIS HOTEL.
“DO NOT STAY HERE”
How this hotel got 3 out of 5 stars is beyond me. Our beds and bathroom were dirty, the ceiling was covered in dirt or cracked. It smells, the prices aren't good and the doors are all beat up like someone's trying to break out! The only thing going for it is the staff who are very nice, otherwise there is no reason to stay here just AVOID it!
“Not Impressed”
The room felt stuffy, restroom smelled, to many doors and hallways. Glad they had a shuttle to airport.
“Not too bad”
The hotel is nice enough although the decor is decidely tatty and beds a bit worn. Breakfast is decent, buffet style, but can get mobbed out at times. The hotel is situated well outside Crawley, which is either good or bad depending on your tastes and requirements. All in all not a bad place to stay, it just has a bit of a run down feeling to it but ultimately value for money.
“Godd & Convenient for early morning travel”
Hotel is in a good location and is covered by the airport shuttle service - which is free from airport. Have tried the restaurant before was not impressed by buffet selection; a la carte okay. But have a drink and eat in bar, food seems much better. The adjacent lodge is also cheaper than a room in the hotel itself. However it is not physically attached and you walk across the carpark; okay if not busy. When travelling early from Gatwick I usually stay here - went somewhere else once and regretted every minute.
“Horrible hotel”
Getting there was hard. They tell you they have a shuttle service from Gatwick airport, but they forget to mention it only runs every 90 minutes. The room was filthy. There were spider webs in the windows. Moldings were coming loose. There was actual rust along the sides of the bath tub. The sheets were dirty. On top of that, instead of a toll-free number, they have a premium charge number that costs more than normal phone calls, and when you finally reach them, they are borderline rude. In short, avoid this hotel at all costs.
“Not Impressed”
This hotel is very old, things alway seem to be broken. Although it was close to a bus stop to go to the nearest town, it would be better to get a hotel in Crawley, which is a lovely little town. I would not really recommend this hotel.
