“good for airport transfer if you get a good priced deal”

“no free shuttle service to airport”

“Convient Location, Expensive for what it is.”

All round comfortable and clean but think its quite expensive for what it is. They also charge for wifi £5 per hour whilst I was their.

“Just right for an overnight pre flight stay”

After several hours traveling we were so happy to learn that the hotel shuttle could be picked up just feet from where the Gatwick- Heathrow shuttle dropped us off. We were a little surprised at how far from the airport the hotel was; but we were so pleased when we entered the hotel to an lovely lobby, lobby bar, glassed in pool and warm friendly staff that checked us in and gave us information on the shuttle that would take us to he airport the next day. Brief but great stay, comfortable room, nicely decorated (small) but perfect for what we needed.

“Nice Room but noise from kitchen filling outside garbage containers early in morning”

My room was nice.. on 7th floor. The only issue I had was with the fact that between 6am and 7am apparently they take out the kitchen garbage or food deliveries are made. I am pretty sure it was the garbage..because it was very loud and I could hear it despite the fact that I had earplugs in. I mentioned it to the Bar Manager but he was sure it was the delivery van which implied he could not do anything about it.

“All good”

“At least it was for only one night.”

I only stayed one night but two or three things weren't right. It's a nice hotel and I had a comfortable room with the expected facilities. I just felt the staff - especially the bar and restaurant staff - were lethargic and not attentive. They were hardly welcoming and lacked 'zip'.

“Crowne Plaza Gatwick”

We were surprised that the shuttle bus from Gatwick Airport to the hotel was not included in our hotel rate. We had to pay 6 pounds and the bus runs every half hour. This should have been clearly outlined by Crowne Plaza.

“Better than expected”

I chose this for a one-night stopover before an early morning flight to Canada. The building is nondescript, from a distance I thought it was a hospital. Nice entry & good public spaces. I expected that our bargain rate would mean a crummy room, but it was gorgeous! Luxurious fabrics, comfy bed with six fluffy pillows, modern bathroom with granite counter, bathrobe and slippers for going down to the indoor pool. Our view was poor, but all the rooms looked out onto the same jumble of airconditioners and scaffolding, so just close the (lovely satin) drapes! We avoided the welcoming but pricey hotel dining, by walking about three blocks. The Crawley Leisure Centre has all the fast-food joints, bowling, cinema. Further into town are many cafes, pubs and shops. Parking at the hotel was extra, as was the airport shuttle, but well worth it to avoid the pain of finding your way in to Gatwick's maze. If I have to fly through Gatwick again I will happily stay at the Crowne Plaza.

Getting around

Airport shuttle recommended. Allow 20 minutes travel time to airport, plus 15 minutes to get to the check-in area. Walk to movie theatres, bowling, kid-friendly restaurants. Typical fast-food available, or walk a few more blocks for ethnic foods.

“Very Nice Hotel”

after being a ferry and then hours on a train all we wanted to do was get to the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with this one. It fit what you expect from a Crowne Plaza, the bed was much more comfortable than we anticipated. The one thing that surprised me was the size of the bathroom. The bathroom was huge! We stayed here as we were going to a lot of other places in England and the station was centrally located for us. We would definitely return to this hotel.
