“Great choice for layovers at Gatwick”
Overnighted on my way to and from Europe via Gatwick. Airport pickup was on time and very convenient. Staff were very professional and helpful. Rooms were clean and well equipped. I found restaurant prices a bit on the expensive side and unless you are there long enough to venture out to restaurants in the nearby city centre, you can spend a tidy sum on meals. There is a nice shop just off the lobby if you need to pick up soft drinks, personal items, newspapers etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there another time.
“Clean, Easy to find, Economical”
Very good is how I would describe the Arora - Gatwick, which is actually in Crawley, England, a little south of the airport. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous, and the room was clean, quiet, but the bed was too soft. The bathroom was roomy with a nice new tub to soak away the stress of travel in warm bubbles, rinsing off with the snake shower device, to some, bathing is a time trial, for me, a meditation. The televsion promised a lot of premium channels, but did not deliver. The TV guide said the channels were on, but the message on the screen was "scrambled" on about 20 out of 60 channels ( I like to watch sports, got only highlites on BBC, sad ). Also, the public computers in the computer center are whacked, ( slow, problematic, etc... ). I did enjoy my walk into Crawley and the down to earth peopleof that community.
“Impressive Lobby Area”
This is a fine hotel with impressive public spaces (lobby) and excellent amenities. Its in-house restaurant looks rather better than the food it provides. It has underground parking but, annoyingly, no elevator to assist carting luggage from car to the main floor where the room elevators are located. Be careful of the extra cost WI-FI service. Connection is free from the lobby but this is not made clear from the description in the room or on the site so I paid for a 24hr connection that I discovered later I did not need. Overall a good hotel for the price.
“Friendly staff, but tiny room”
Booked our room for 3 people, but only got beds for 2. They accommodated us though. Room was small but clean and lobby was nice. No wifi in room but free in lobby. Staff was always friendly. Need your key to get everywhere. No pool. Right next to Crawley train station but really far from central London. Probably would stay again for only one night, but would be closer to town for the larger part of trip.
“would highly recommend !”
wonderful hotel. great location, stepped off the train & signs led us down the platform to the gate leading to the hotel. great room & amenities. shuttle to the airport in the morning available for a very reasonable cost. overall would highly recommend this hotel.
“Outstanding value near preferred London Airport”
We spent our last night at the Arora Gatwick on our recent vacation. This hotel is quality and decorated with taste and great design; an outstanding value for its location. And by the way, Gatwick is just so much more stress free than the larger London Airport which is a complete traffic nightmare compared to this one. I could actually see staying here for several days and commuting into London and other special nearby sites. Only drawback here is that there is no elevator to the underground parking garage. Highly recommend. Jim U. --- USA
“Fantastic Hotel Close to Gatwick”
The Arora is a great hotel, reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. Comfy beds and well stocked bathrooms. Tea making facility with trouser press, iron and hairdryer in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. The sandwiches and tea in the cafe were great. Perfect hotel for a stopover from Gatwick.
“Comfy and clean”
Room a touch small, but can't complain for price paid!
“Value-Priced Completely Decent Gatwick Stopover Hotel ...”
This hotel is value priced and very modern and clean. Its location on the rail line allows an easy trip into central London if desired (about an hour each way).
“Fabulous Hotel!”
The Arora Hotel Gatwick is fantastic! We were shocked at the size of the room...huge! The bed was comfortable, service was excellent, breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as we were flying out of Gatwick. I would definitely stay there again in the future.
