“Perfect Stay”

The Holiday Inn Express was perfect for my week long stay. The staff was very helpful as I asked for a mini fridge for my room and had mail delivered to me for work. The whole hotel was spotless. I have to go back in two weeks and will book them again.

“Good for an overnight stay”

Hotel is good for a quick overnight stay if you need to stay in the area. From the highway where it is located, it is not convenient to get into and out of the parking lot as the you can ONLY go in one direction on the highway, thus you have to drive and do a U turn to go in the opposite direction, or vice versa if you're coming from the opposite direction. The Mall is close by, but requires the extra driving to go in that direction. Hotel is clean and comfortable.

Area recommendations
A short drive (approx. 20 to 30 minutes) to Sandy Hook beaches, and a short drive (5 minutes) to the local Mall.

“FIRE ALARMS!!!”

I read a previous review that mentioned alarms going off in the middle of the night, and I thought it was a one-night thing. Apparently, I was wrong. This hotel has an ON GOING problem with their fire alarms, which causes them to go off TWICE in the middle of the night. It was 3 and 4am when the alarms went off. We're required to get up, go outside, and stand in the rain and high winds for 30 minutes waiting (each time) for the fire department to check out what the hotel knows is a false alarm. It was infuriating. As a result, we had a TERRIBLE night's sleep. The kicker? We we not offered ANY sort of compensation for our repeated inconvenience! It's really a shame because it was a very nice hotel. I thought it was a great value, clean, great breakfast, nice room amenities, great location, etc. I would stay here again if they can GUARANTEE I will not be disturbed by the fire alarms during my stay. It was a nice hotel, but those alarms were utterly ridiculous.

“When in the area, would stay again”

I was pleasantly surprised at the Hotel Express. I do not know what I was expecting but Holiday Inn sure has upgraded their express hotels. I completely enjoyed my stay. I was only sorry that I did not have a car. That was the only minus of the trip.

“NJ Marathon- great hotel!”

I stayed here for the NJ Marathon and the hotel was perfect! It wasn't too far from the shore, the bed was extremely comfortable, breakfast was good and rooms were quiet. Would stay there again!

“Business Hotel”

A very nice business hotel with an accommodating staff. Made reservation through Expedia and then extended my stay through the hotel. With this change, checkout was troublesome. Making reservation through the hotel directly would have eliminated the problem.

“Not as near to the beach as I thought”

We were a lot further from the beach than we thought. Reception staff were not very helpful in giving directions or help to get to the beach (we did not have a car). The hotel should provide a map and places of interest in the area. The breakfast was not to our taste, would have liked a selection of fruit. The room was fantastic - couldn't fault it.
