“Very central convenient location.”
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Quality of food could be improved.
“Weekend trip”
Excellent location in city centre. Very good service and friendly staff
“A Visit to Remember”
Purpose of the visit was leisure - visit Menin gate and other British and Commonwealth cemetrys. Hotel a ten minute stroll from the Menin Gate and less to town centre square. Parking was extra but secure and worthwhile allowing convenient touring of battlefields in Flanders. Food was of reasonable quality. Rooms spacious. Lobby bar prices tended to be expensive - broadly twice the price of the pub across the street. WiFi available free in the lobby but carries a charge in the room - what nonsense. Rooms was spacious, well appointed and clean. bed comfortable and reception staff friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
“Impressed”
Novotel hotels are great value for a short family break abroad.
“Very convenient location”
Comfortable stay, as normal. Convenient location for access to all the sights. However, Novotel have 'ramped' up the costs unreasonably compared with 12 months ago. The room rate is more than B & B rates for last year; and they have introduced expensive daily car park charges, which were free last year. Also, the English break fast is far too expensive - however, there is an excellent 'bagette' shop just over the road. Pity they are squeezing the customers !
“A Great Place to Stay”
My wife and I stayed here for one night in August this year. The hotel was very comfortable and clean, with very friendly staff. It is quite a long walk from the railway station, but once there you will find the hotel close to the central square area, (buses to Tyne Cot leave from here), museum and Menin Gate. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.
“A very smart, professionally run hotel - recommended”
Modern, well designed with a very high standard of fit-out - pretty luxurious given its star rating and price - would definitely use this hotel/brand again (ps VERY convenient parking in a lovely City)
“Very convenient, but rather grubby and tired.”
Perfect location in the town centre and to explore surrounding Flanders sights. Paid parking underneath or park around the corner next to the Church - free and everyone seems to do it - fine over night. Hotel looks smart enough but rooms clearly tired, rather grubby and cheaply furnished. Bed comfortable. Overall rather over-priced for very mediocre 3 star hotel, but where else do you stay? 'In Flanders Fields' museum very good - in the Cloth Hall around the corner (but will be closed for refurb Nov 2011 - June 2012). Also easy to drive to Tyne Cot, Langemark etc and other WW1 sites.
“Would go back again for sure”
Nice hotel, good breakfast, comfortable room. It's down a side street but only 2-5 minutes walk to the main square and Menin Gate. No fancy outlook from the windows but it's nice and quiet for a good nights rest. A good base to cover both a day trip to Bruge and the local historical WW1 sites.
“Location - location”
Brilliant location close to all the tourist action. Very friendly and helpful staff.
