"Very nice Hotel, staff very pleasant and helpful."
Very pleasant stay, despite being the last Customers before a 2 month shutdown for refurbishment we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very efficient and provided lots of useful and relevant information. Room was very comfortable, plenty space and very clean.
Loved this hotel; loved Wengen - once we found it. If you have a car, you must park the car at a train station in Lauterbrunnen and take a train up the mountain to Wengen, which is car-free. The hotel is lovely. We had a room overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley and surrounding mountains - gorgeous views! The room itself was comfortable and quiet. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was fine.
Excellent views, staff, location, facilities. We would have loved to stay longer. Perfect for Jungfrau, Shilthorn, Interlaken, as the train station is right across the street and the cable cars are a few buildings away. The breakfast buffet is very good. I would definately come back here and recommend this to friends!

We had the pleasure of staying one night in a family room in beautiful Wengen at the Hotel Edelweiss. It is a 6min walk downhill from the train station. The family room was perfect for our family of four with a bunk bed and a two twins side by side. Bathroom was modern and the view of the mountains fantastic. Breakfast was included and was excellent - many types of breads and eggs to make soft or hard boiled eggs, yogourt, toppings, tea, coffee, juice, cereals. We booked and would recommend dinner at the hotel with a four course set meal which was reasonable and delicious, along with a suggested wine pairing which was excellent. Having said all of that, we must add that what makes the hotel are the owners, Daniel and Susanne as well as the staff at the hotel. From beginning to end, Daniel was warm, welcoming and offered advice on the region. We would stay again in a heartbeat and wished we could have stayed longer. We were able to hike on one day and even played shinny hockey on the next morning in Wengen - beautiful with mountains in the backdrop. Our visit to Wengen and Hotel Edelweiss are among the highlights of our winter trip.

The hotel was wonderful & spotless, the staff were nice, the breakfast room & assortment were excellent. The highlight of the place is the view from the room & balcony. We returned to Wengen after being in Lauterbrunnen eleven years ago. Absolutely breath-taking view as were woke up each morning. We took some of the recommended hikes listed in the room's info in the Wengen area along with taking the train up to Kleine Scheidegg.
The hotel staff gave us a ride in their small vehicle to the train station when we left.
Switzerland is expensive, but we picked up picnic food at the Coop grocery store near the train station for our lunches, so the food expense overall was fine.

We plan on returning to this wonderful hotel as soon as possible. The staff was incredibly helpful. A few aspects that stood out: 1) location - we liked being higher in the valley with beautiful alpine vistas surrounding us; 2) a live web display in the lobby to view the conditions at the higher elevations and give the latest weather forecasts; 3) the breakfasts were really quite unique - they even had waffles with chocolate sauce one morning. We had an alpine storm come through in mid-Sept which left the area in snow. The staff was very helpful in directing us to the best hikes given the change in weather.

"Elegant hotel, but breakfast was a real let down !"
We came to this hotel on our honeymoon 25 years ago and noticed mixed reviews so decided to split our anniversary with 4 nights in Regina Grindlewald. The Savoy suite we were upgraded to was great and just perfect !
We found that groups like Japanese, were allocated breakfast in the elegant dining room, and we and some other couples had to eat in a kind of passage way. We felt like second rate citizens. The small fruit salad looked like it had been there for a few days and very unappetising, the small cakes looked like they were from a packet, one morning the coffee was cold. You could ask for a cooked egg which was the highlight ! but even then the poached ones were very undercooked and unless you asked for 2 you only got one !! So mainly just had bread, an egg and some preserves - not what you would expect from a Hotel of high standing ! We looked to eat our breakfast out on day 3 but could not find anywhere. This a hotel that seems to pride itself on it's food so this was very disappointing, the evening meals were priced too high for us so we ate out for them. When asked about our stay, I mentioned the breakfast at checkout they asked if we had an evening meal, rather than address our concerns - thought we should have had a discount. The staff at breakfast were not approachable to complain to, and one did not speak English and no-one asked us how it was so we kind of suffered it !! which did spoil our stay.
