“Central and conveneinet location”

This was a good hotel - very typical big corporate hotel but clean, friendly staff and the room was comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. The back entrance to the hotel opens out onto the main shopping street and is next to the bus stop which is really convenient for the airport. The breakfast was lovely and a very good selection and plenty of it. The restaurant for evening meals was very expensive which seemed silly given the variety and number of compeitiors within easy walking distance! Would recommend though and would stay there again.

Area recommendations
The Te Papa museum is well worth a visit. We ate at Sweet Mothers Kitchen which was good. Very windy though - its not called Windy wellington for nothing! The cable car is recommended too - the view from the top is spectacular.

“Would definitely go back”

We only stayed for three nights but wished we could've stayed longer. We were surprised that everything we wanted to do were all within walking distances which was very handy as we didn't have a car and we only had to take the lift to take us down to Lambton Quay where all the shops etc are. Whilst the cost of food were a bit too expensive for us, the cafes and food court were only minutes away. Room service and house keeping were great & we had fresh towels every day. Overall we had a wonderful experience in Wellington thanks to Novotel. Would definitely choose Novotel next time we go.

Area recommendations
Te Papa museum is a must for a new traveller to Wellington which is only 15 minutes walk from Novotel. Take a ride on cable car which is only a minute from hotel lift to Botanic garden, great view & walk way. Beehive building is only 8-10 minutes away.

“good location, clean and easy to get around”

Hotel is close to the main shops and commercial strip, easy to get around from there. Whilst its up on the terrace, it has an elevator right down to the main street, so its actually really convenient.

“Good Location, but not impressed”

Poor service, incompetent concierge, exhorbidant charges for anything and everything imaginable, lacklustre food and hotel in bad need of a renovation.

“great location”

Very helpful front of house staff. Check in quick and efficient, and staff very frienly location excellent, down the lift and you are in the heart of the city. Good value for money if you want a great location and clean and safe hotel.

“Great Location”

Very nice hotel, large room, it was nice to have a large sofa as well as a bed.

Area recommendations
The Airport Express bus stops right outside the back entrance to the hotel. Great location, in the shopping area rather than the noisy nightlife area although you can walk between the two areas in 10 minutes or so.

“Good hotel with easy acces To lambton Quay and to the bus for airport is just a few steps from exit.”

Good Hotel in dowtown near of Lambton Quay by elevator. Very easy access to Airport Bus, only few steps from elevator.

Area recommendations
The Papa Museum. The Cable car, a step away the hotel for the best view of Wellington The train journey (Kapiti Line) for great scenery The ferry between Wellington and Picton for a sightseeing cruise

“Good Place to stay in!”

The Novotel is everything it claims,a wonderful place to stay.The service is fantastic,warm and welcoming.the cable car is next door.the shopping district close by.Check in and check out are smooth.Probably the only thing which can improve?-the Hotel lobby. NZ star ratings are very deceptive,but the Novotel did not dissapoint us and we were happy with the stay at Novotel.Breakfast was nice and uptostandard.we would have loved to stay one more night. They have two Macs near the lobby which can be used for free.

Area recommendations
The Quay and the dining area nearby are good destinations.be careful as this is on the Terrace,areas which seem short distance away cactually be a long climb.There are plenty of food options availablenearby.
What to pack
Wellington is a Windy place an umbrella is no use,rather any form of head cover or ear protection is welcome and handy.
Dining
There are plenty of Kebab shops which are famous and economical,as well as Indian food which is economical.Better options are at Manners Street-Abrakebabra and Daawat.
