I was with wife and small son. Hotel has compact but nice territory. Building is really old and there is no air conditioning in rooms (and days were very hot in July , so staying at room were rather hard). There were much dust under the bed when I got there for son's toy, so nobody cleared that dust for at least 2-3 weeks.
Breakfasts were identical during all 5 days of stay - fruits, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, jogurts, 2 kind of juices, bacon, cheese etc. There was some problem with dinner - in most cases food was NOT tasty: unsalted, half-cooked or overroasted. Though such problem is rather common (about 50%) for non-elite hotels in Switzerland looking at my experience with several of them. There were no other problems. Staff was kind and responsive.
The rooms in the new wing facing the lake are magnificient. They are spacious, well equipped and romantic.
The individual spa cottages for rent are a great idea. Again, very romantic.
The food was incredible. Very creative. The different ingredients work together to create exquisite taste. Well worthy of a Michelin star.
The bar is very well stocked. The staff was very attentive.
All together, a magical place.
I would highly recommend.

Nice exterior. Cold utilitarian bedrooms which are not relaxing at all.
Receptionist at night of check-in not very friendly & tried to palm me off with a room without lake view which had been paid for. To top it off, another receptionist the next morning was unwilling to answer a query because it involves a matter which she claim was "not my job".
The only redeeming factor is the wonderful spa of which hotel guests have exclusive use of from 9-11am.

Incredible views, peace and quiet, with wonderful service. Only down side was bathrooms far too small and limited choice on the breakfast buffet. Ideal for the ferry and a very big plus was the Viennese cafe.

Home to an aerial tramway, Weggis offers outstanding views of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. One of Switerland's warmer cities, the area is also popular agriculturally, with many orchards and vineyards.
