Great hotel, awesome staff

Posted 12-Jul-2014
Stayed her for one night on business trip. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. There were families with children, but this hotel was good for me as a Business traveler in search of comfort and rest, More importantly in my opinion, the staff was friendly and eager to make the stay pleasant and worry-free. There was a large swimming pool which gave the hotel a resort-like atmosphere. The Metro train station was only 3 blocks away, therefore, very convenient. The trolley tour stop was nearby. In the evening, it was touching to see a container of ice and complimentary water bottles after a long hot day outside in July. Checking in and checking out were a breeze. Great staff at door, front desk, housekeeping, and operator.

5 days in D.C.

Posted 12-Jul-2014
Pros: Food was fantastic!
Cons: Summer storm procedures seemed lacking. . . What if the electricity goes out? It was unnerving to watch staff scramble to secure pool area in a storm
Location: Central and close by to museums.i
Comfy and welcoming. Chaises around the pool had pillows and fluffy towels. . . How decadent is that!

Stayed for one night but wish it was longer. Close to everything. Nice pool and loved the patio bar. Pool closed at 9 which was fine as the hotel remained quiet into the night

Nice Hotel walking distance to everything

Posted 09-Jul-2014
Pros: The pool, staff and location
We had a great time at the Washington Plaza. The staff were exceptional and really friendly. Given that the temperature was in the mid 90s having the pool to come back to after a day of sightseeing was brilliant. The restaurant is quite good and there a lot of great spots on 14 th street.

Very nice hotel conveniently located.

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: The hotel was very clean and had a great outdoor pool area.
Location: We walked to all the museums, government buildings and monuments. The hotel is withing walking distance of many good restaurants and Dupont Circle.
We stayed at the hotel for five days with the goal of seeing the sights of Washington D.C.. We took the Metro from Reagan International to withing a few blocks of the hotel. It was one of only a few hotels in the area to have an outside pool. The pool is large with very nice chairs and umbrellas all around. Poolside wait staff was available for drinks and snacks. The room was very clean and included a refrigerator. We walked to most of the sights including the Smithsonian museums, the White House, and Congress. Tours were available from the main desk. We were also within walking distance of the neighborhoods of the Dupont Circle area; a very nice grouping of eclectic restaurants with outside seating available. We found the staff very helpful.

The best hotel in Washington

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Pros: see above!!!!! Everything!
Cons: A microwave on sight for children/adults with special feeding issues.
Location: see above! The location is awesome, centrally located.
We loved our stay. The staff was very nice, and helpful. The outdoor pool with bar and food service was the best. The food was delivered promptly. Prices were not outrageous. There is a Whole Foods grocery store within walking distance and a 24 hour C.V.S. pharmacy directly across the street. Plenty of good cafes close by. Nice central location for D.C. My only wish is that they had a microwave, as my son has food restrictions for acid reflux, so we could not provide him with his proper diet. They don't even have one on-sight, because they prepare their food fresh, which is awesome. I would just ask for one, for special need cases. However, this hotel overall is so awesome, it will be the only hotel we stay at in the future!!!!! 5 stars!!!!!!!!

Great location, good price, excellent staff!

Posted 08-Jul-2014
Cons: The Wifi could be upgraded, but the price is right.
My wife and I spent a long July 4th weekend at the hotel. We were given an upgrade, so we had a balcony which made the accommodations exceptional. So nice to have fresh air when staying in a city hotel. We've spent weekend off and on over the past 30 years and the location, courtesy of staff made this one of our best trips. Good restaurants close by plus a Whole Foods a few blocks away!
