“DC”

When we arrived they said we did not have a reservation. Even when I showed them by Expedia reservation, they questioned it. Only after insisting that the reservation, which had been in place for at least a month, was vailid did they then say Expedia had not forwarded it to the hotel. After about 10 minutes the desk clerk finally admitted they had it. They said no room was available at that time, so i had to change clothes in the bathroom of the exercise center to be ready for a meeting outside the hotel. My wife had to sit in the lobby for two hours before she could go to our room. Service is not important to this hotel or its staff.

Doesn't matter unless you have an early flight out of National.

“Very friendly staff”

Thank you for a lovely stay. The room was cold - and didn't warm up when I changed the thermostat. But that is easily fixed with a blanket.

“Neighborhood lacking”

Hotel was great to stay in, but few local restaurants \ nightlife other than irish bar and food court at nearby union square. but very close to capital \ mall.

It is comfortable and well located but it is really bad there is no free internet in the room.

“Would go back tonight”

The Hotel was clean, the staff was nice and always helpful... I only stayed there for one night with three friends, but we have nothing bad to say about it. Would recomend it and would go back there.

Getting there
If you go by bus, whatever you do, don't go by Chinatown Bus. It was cheap, but that's about all I can say about them. Apart from that, everything happened, and not in a good way.

“Most Convenient and Best Stay”

One of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. Clean, friendly staff and within walking distance of union station, the capital and every museum. Would return there in a heart beat!

“WASHINGTON DELIGHT”

What can i say about the Washington Court Hotel? Well let me start with the word Excellent! Having just spent 4 nights there I can highly recommend this hotel for a stay in DC, it seems to be primarily a business hotel at this time of year so the weekend was fairly quiet but even when it was busier their standards did not drop at all, the staff were friendly and helpfull at all times and from the doormen right to the duty manager nothing was too much trouble. The bar was friendly without being in your face and you could sit and watch sports or find a quiet corner to unwind after a busy day sight seeing around the city. Breakfast was not included but after having it on the first morning we used it everyday, it was very good, fresh and plentiful and in comparison just as cheap as eating out of the hotel. We also used the resturant on one occassion and had a delightful dining experience. In summary our stay at the Washington Court Hotel was a delight.

Area recommendations
As we were only in DC for 4 days we tried to cram in as much as possible which led to long days (take a good pair of walking boots!) looking at the various points of interest. If you don't like to walk just get on the Tour Buses of which there are many and chose the Hop On - Hop Off option. You must visit Arlington Cemetery (Take the Metro $2.50), it is a really moving experience and while you are ther make sure you take the 15 minute walk to the IOWA JIMA monument. In DC itself you will find many things to see and do inluding the Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Hill, The White House etc. Also there are Museums a plenty to walk around and enjoy, all of which are free of charge. We mainly stayed around the China Town area in the evenings as it was the closest area to our hotel which a good selection of resturants and bars to suit all taste's. The George Town area is also a very popular place for evening entertainment but you will have no trouble finding what you want where ever you chose to go. Just take your time and enjoy Washington for what it is and that's a Great Pllace to Visit. One word of advice, if you chose like us to visit NY and DC then take the train between the 2 cities as its a great option and works out both quicker and cheaper between City Centre to City Centre and you also avoid the hastle of the Airports.

“Great location”

Across the street from Georgetown Law campus and the capital is just down the street. Super location for our needs. Parking is expensive. Restaurant is expensive. Internet is free only in lobby , there is a charge per day in the room. There was quite a bit of mildew around the tub but otherwise the room was clean. They did not replace coffee in the room when we used it the first day. This room was on the interior court and was much quieter than the one we got last time on the street side. Comfortable beds, nice linens. Easy walking distance from the Metro either Union Station or Judiciary Square. We'll stay again.

“good hotel but in a dead area in the weekend”

The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is courteous. The location is close to the Capitol and the museums, but the area is absolutely dead in the weekend - no restaurants, cafes, shops - nothing.

Probably Georgetown with the lively neighborhood - or a hotel close to Penn Avenue that is still close to the museums but also close to cafes and shops.
