“Excellent Hotel”
When you first step in this hotel you are greeted by the friendly reception staff, the decor is modern and it is very clean. The rooms are a reasonable size and have very comfortable beds, there is even a pillow menu. The location of the hotel is good, a short walk away from the Capitol building. Art & Soul the restaurant in the Hotel is good and has very attentive staff, the bar staff are all friendly.
“Great hotel & Great Location”
Great location - few blocks from Union station - an easy stroll & you can see The Capitol Building from the front of the hotel! Warm welcome Interior seemed a little dark - but added to the ambiance! Loved the little tealight candles they lit & put on floor round lobby area in the evening Room was spacious & comfy & clean Ample drawer & hanging space - though a few more hangers wouldnt go amiss Did not use restaurant or room service as we thought a little pricey for us (budget!) Area was fine, there have been mentions in other reviews of the fire house & liqour store but these did not affect us & we often walked around the area night & day - no problems Bed was lovely & comfy - slept very well though the walls were a little thin !! Say no more about the amourous couple next door! Staff were all very helpful Gift shop tucked away at back useful for soft drinks, snacks & postcards etc
“Expedia Offer Price,Best Hotel in Washington.”
An excellent location for tourists,Union Station close by for good food and Metro access. It is only 5 minutes walk even with suitcases. Our stay was 4 nights 26/09 to 30/09 this year, breakfast in the hotel(continental was very good)our room a little gloomy away from the street, very close to the lifts but NO NOISE.A shame about the swimming pool, maybe at weekends it might be possible to open it in September when the weather can be and was excellent. Our experience was all positive from the front desk to the room service.
“An enjoyable experience!”
This hotel met all our needs. It is close to Union Station and the Metro. The staff were always helpful and friendly. We did not eat at the hotel but there are plenty of very reasonably priced places to eat in Union Station. Would definitely go back.
“Will certainly go back to this hotel for my next trip.”
The hotel was very comfortable, clean and friendly. Convenient location to all tourist attractions. Everything within walking distance.
“Would stay there again”
Hotel very good. Very Clean. Staff Friendly and very informative.
“Excellent Location”
As above!
“Excellently sited hotel in DC”
This hotel is but a few blocks from the Capitol and within easy walking distance of the Mall and the Smithsonian Museums. The DC Metro too is just around the corner and from there you have the run of the City. The newly opened (Oct 08) restaurant is excellent but if you are not a seafood fan, the starters are limited (to one on one occasion). It is not an inexpensive restaurant, but there are many places nearby to get a good meal from cheap to costly. The rooftop pool is open in summer - when I was there in April it was closed "not yet summer" when I was there in October it was closed, "summer is over". In both cases the outside temperature was in the 70s and it would have been an extra benefit to be able to chill out for a while. The hotel has improved immensely since April when I last stayed there, it clearly continues to be improved. The pillow menu (yes I kid you not) includes pillows with an ipod link built in so you can play your ipod through the pillow! To each his or her own. Room service can be a bit slow. Sometimes three or four in the afternoon before you get the room cleaned. Clearly they clean the checked out rooms first before the rest of us. If you have been out all day often you are heading back at that time to get changed for the evening. At least once I was stuck waiting outside while they finished the room. However, the fact remains - good hotel, perfect situation. I recommend it.
“I'll be back”
Suprisingly good hotel for the money, great value. Good location - I would imagine for tourist as well as business. Nice staff who went the extra mile, and eco touches (bathroom cosmetics, some organic food, notices etc) which were appreciated. Big comfy bed. In-room ironing board and iron, much appreciated by this business traveller! Gym on site (and pool in season) is a bit tired, but adequate. Indeed whole hotel evidently works hard, but nonetheless I'll definitely return.
“Very satisfied”
The hotel is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk from Union Station where you can take the Metro anywhere in the city. Great attractions such as the Capitol building, the National Mall (with most of the Smithsonian museums) and the Library of Congress are all within comfortable walking distance too. The staff at the hotel were always polite, helpful and very friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean and well furnished with a large desk, very comfortable beds and a 32" HD television to flop down in front of at the end of a long day. My only real issue was the quality of the food served in the hotel. It wasn't bad, but you can definitely eat far better in local restaurants around the city for similar prices.
