Walking distance to all museums, monuments, etc

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Overall, hotel was nice and staff was friendly. Nothing exceptional. Was within walking distance to museums, monuments and night life but so are many others. Water temp in shower fluctuated from cold to scalding hot frequently during each shower. Room temp fluctuated from freezing to burning up daily and the thermostat was set at same temp the whole time. Then upon check out we were hit with a $45 per day for parking! That is outrageous. We have stayed at many exceptionally nice hotels across the country and never has parking been so expensive. Nor do they ever disclose the cost so you can make the decision to park there or not. We paid $38 for a rental car for 4 days, that we never used because we walked everywhere only to be billed this much for parking the car.

No peer in Washington

Posted 05-Sep-2014
Pros: Scale, style, attentiveness.
The Jefferson is really the leader in Washington's luxury hotels. There are lots of great hotels there, but none with the combination of staff graciousness, attention to detail, intimate scale, and truly refined atmosphere that made my stay at the Jefferson perfect.

Who's better?

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Many restaurants, Pubs, Metro
The hotel is pristine clean, completely attentive and friendly staff, superb location and restaurants offer fine food. This combo of attributes exceeds most, if not all others in Washington, DC.

An elegant hotel experience

Posted 18-May-2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: Short of enlarging the rooms, nothing!
Location: Well located for visitors to the White House, but also close to the up-and-coming area north of Dupont Circle.
The Jefferson is beautifully designed and decorated, with every creature comfort. It has the feel of a small, boutique hotel, with a personal touch. Although the rooms are somewhat small, they are very comfortable. The beds and pillows are luxurious, and the bathrooms are excellent and very well appointed. The service is so good it's almost invisible, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Although I have been trying different hotels each time I go to DC, I have now stayed at the Jefferson four times in a row!
