Nice hotel close to everything!

Posted 16-Apr-2015
Pros: Proximity to everything The shower was amazing
Cons: Sofa bed needs to be updated
Location: Chinatown, Penn Quarter, Metro station, walking distance to many amenities, monuments, communities.
The first impression of this hotel takes one back to days of nostalgia. The exterior brownstone shows the character and dating of the period homes in the area. The entrance with marble floors, clean lines, grand opening, with smiling staff. Matthew was a great attendee and checked us in with ease. The room was nice with a suite option for cooking, although these odors permeated the hallway corridor. The main bed was nice but the pull out couch lacked comfort as the wires from the cushion were felt on your body even after doubling layer with an extra comforter. If your looking for location this is it! settled close to Chinatown, Penn Quarter, and the metro station all of the tourist adventures within reach.

Great hotel in Washington DC.

I loved the location. It was close enough to walk to downtown and the metro was not far away. Beautiful rooms, but the first floor lacked a view, but I didn't mind. Great shower in the bathroom, unending hot water. Full service kitchen in the room was awesome! Staff was friendly and helpful when I asked questions about tours, what to see in the city, and how to get around.

Super nice and clean downtown hotel close to Metro

Posted 12-Apr-2015
Greatly renovated with nice interior decoration. Super clean rooms, but a bit slow in cleaning services! Too much noise from other rooms (old building) Super slow WiFi which we had to go to the Mariot hotel across street to use their WiFi!!! One of the staff gave us the wrong direction to the White House! But their taxi driver was super nice and helpful: Shimels Keneni 571-218-5131 S&F Limousin Service

Pros: Queen bed, shower and direct TV.
Cons: sofa to watch TV.
Location: 20 min. walk to the Mall. museums plus!
For the money this was a good choice! I would stay here again. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen worked well, although few utensils dishes ect. Shower pressure very good! Direct tv in main room only. Pull out sofa bed was not comfortable to sit on in main room.

Nice hotel. Close to walk to attractions.

I was a bit nervous to stay on a non national brand. The hotel was good though. Breakfast was ehh, and it was extra, so we just went out. Close to metro, very convenient. Great kitchen and very spacious. Would have loved a tub to soak in after all the walking!

Luxury close to everything.

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: The room was immense and very spacious. The bed & pillows were comfortable and we received fresh towels and kitchen clean up daily.
Cons: If there were more dishware and utensils, there would be less need to run a nearly empty dishwasher
Location: It is close to the metro which gets you to the National Mall, museums, restaurants and more. You can walk to a lot but taxis are easy to flag down.
We had a great trip and were blown away by the quality of the Eldon. Beautifully remodeled, the art from the room to the halls was lovely. A full kitchen, lots of hot water and any questions we had were quickly answered so we could get on with our plans. It was a little noisy - but that is Washington DC. We were very close to the metro, CVS grocery pharmacy store and a wine store. Lots of cafes, easy walks to Chinatown and no problem getting taxis. The room had radiant heating under the stone floors and the windows opened- nice for fresh air Coloradans.

The suite was spacious. There was no usable desk for working. There was no TV in the bedroom. The bed was a queen and should have been a king for that standard of suite. The breakfast offerings were meager, even for a continental breakfast. Coffee was available 24 hours, which was excellent.
