“Mandarin maintains excellent service”

My wife and stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Washington for five days before the 4th of July. Without exception, service was as attentive as at the Mandarin Bangkok. The lobby, bar and common areas have tasteful pan-Asian art and accents. Our room was large and well-appointed with a very comfortable bed and a view of the Washington Marina. Two newspapers every day, free Internet access outside the business lounge, quick room service and staff who know Washington. The breakfast buffet is quite good but a little pricy at $25/person. Cheaper bagel and coffee options can be found within a block. The hotel is an easy walk from the Mall and the Tidal Basin and near Metro. The neighborhood is primarily government offices and has few dinner restaurants except for large seafood places overlooking the Marina. Plan to use taxis if you want to get away from the hotel for dinner in Georgetown, Dupont Circle or other neighborhoods with more night-life.

“Quick Weekend Trip”

I went down to DC for a quick weekend trip, just to unwind for a short bit. The Mandarin Oriental is just a wonderfully decorated and maintained hotel. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are impeccable. Great beds and showers to die for. A wonderful stay, and I will be sure to visit more of their locations in the future.

“FANTASTIC GETAWAY!”

The Hotel was AMAZING!! I recommend it especially for a weekend getaway! we enjoyed the Tai Pan Lounge! and the Live Jazz on Saturday was just awesome! they were able to get us a couples spa on short notice which we both enjoyed! we will be returning to the Mandarin soon!

“Great hotel, Spa was pricey”

The hotel was great and the restaurants were amazing. I really enjoyed CityZen, my husband and I both ordered the 6 course tasting menu. Though the Spa may have been amazing, I didn't bother to go, because the pricing was so high. All of their services were literally double of anything that I have paid before and I don't consider myself cheap...

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. From the spa to the cocktail lounge to both restaurants. Its all a heavenly experience. Highly recommend it.
