“price was good and staff were friendly, cigarette stench in the 'non smoking room' overwhelming!”

Really a great pity the room smelt so much, it became my main memory of the stay. I wanted to like this hotel as the staff went out of their way to be extremely friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and shuttle bus to train worked well.

Clean, well kept, and a wonderful staff. Everyone was helpful and very friendly. Although they are outside the area of the metro, they provide an efficient shuttle service on a regular basis. The room was comfortable and roomy. This is an excellent value in the DC area. We will return.

Not a place where I would stay again or recommend to anyone else. The service wasn't at all professional and the room conditions were less than desirable.

“A Good Deal for the Price”

We stayed in a double bed room. The room was spacious, old furnitures, nothing fancy but overall in decent conditions. The staff was friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast was actually very good. More than what we expected. There were hot food such as eggs, oatmeal, and make your own waffles. Plenty of cereal, muffins, bagels, pastries, fruits,coffee/tea, and juices. We didn't use the shuttle bus but it was running until midnight. We drove from the hotel to downtown DC. It was a short and easy drive. We would stay in this hotel again. Good price for a decent hotel.

“Good Experience, Smooth as Silk.”

Breakfast was the best i have saw in a hotel, employees would go out of their way to help. Free shuttle to Metro staton, just call and they were there within 15 minutes.

“Not a Bad Hotel”

I stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Cheverly for one night. Myself and my girlfriend left in the early morning to arrive there around 8am. The staff were very nice and we were aloud to use their shuttle service to the metro station to go visit the Smithsonian for the day. The shuttle took us there and when I called to pick us up we didn't wait at all, the van was sitting in the parking lot ready! The surrounding neighborhood was pretty unsettling, the day we left there was a drug bust down the road, and i'm use to this kinda stuff living in Philadelphia. I felt safe leaving my car and in the hotel, just not driving around an area i knew nothing about. The bed was not that comfortable but like I said it was only for one night. I would def go back for the price and the really good free continental breakfast they give in the morning!

I'm not sure the non-smoking room was actually non-smoking. The heating wasn't functional yet. Otherwise, the room was nice and I had a pleasant stay.

“Average hotel, just for couple days”

If you traveling to see Washington DC and have an all day trips through Washington metro then this hotel might be good for you. Meaning you just go there and sleep. Pluses: location is just 20 min from Union station. Hotel has shuttle bus to subway. Service is very welcome. Breakfast is not too bad. Minuses: not really clean place. Cigarette smell in corridors and rooms. Ventilation can be better.
