“Great choice for downtown DC”

Close to Metro, White House and Georgetown. Staff attentive, personable but not overly obtrusive. Great food in the small restaurant.

Area recommendations
Georgetown is walking distance (historic, shopping and great restaurants)- don't forget to go to the Kennedy Center - free concert every day of the year - and wonderful architecture with super view of DC from the top.

“Loved the Hotel Lombardy”

Very impressed with the Hotel Lombardy. Central location makes it easy to walk to The White House (10 minutes) and Georgetown. Metro stop at Foggy Bottom means you can get to anywhere within DC, Arlington & Pentagon City for next to nothing. Room was a good size....the bed was huge! Bathroom had all the essentials. Would highly recommend this hotel.

“Perfect location - good value”

It has a perfect location. You can go all around Washington by metro. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. The bed wonderful! My room hasn´t any view and was a little dark but I stayed there just for sleeping. Breakfast is a little expensive. I recommend it because it has a charming location and a very good service.

Area recommendations
I love Georgetown!!! It has nice restaurantes and elegant shops.

“Lovely hotel, with lots of character”

In a city with characterless hotel rooms galore, the Lombardy is a charming exception. The rooms themselves aren't overly large, but they're beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, with remarkably high-quality bed linens. The bright little restaurant in the hotel serves good food at reasonable (by DC standards) prices, and the secluded bar with its fireplace and cozy atmosphere is not to be missed.

“Convenient with Interesting Flair; Could Improve Some Details”

We selected the hotel based on location near a concert venue, cost, and on the appearance of rooms. Upon arrival, we were impressed by prompt, polite service. We were aware of the $36 valet parking fee but found the taxes on top of that as well as the placement of the bill under our door sometime while we were sleeping annoying. The decor is distinctive and interesting; our favorite details were the slatted doors over the regular hotel doors: they gave the property the suggestion of a French Quarter hotel. The bed had 6 pillows, which was a wonderful touch. Someone's room service dishes remained in the hall the entire time we were there. There was a burned out bedside bulb and the overhead fan didn't work (No pull cords). The bathroom was crisp and bright in decor. Street noise was sometimes a factor. Overall, good service and a nice hotel but it would be much approved by some greater attention to detail.

Area recommendations
We were attending a concert at Lisner Auditorium and it took about 3 minutes to walk there, so location was fabulous. Rather than eating at the restaurant or lounge in the hotel, we ate at a restaurant across the street where our entire bill was comparable to that of one entree at the facility in the hotel.

“Lovely hotel in a great location!”

This was my first visit to Washington DC and I was very pleased with my choice of hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and my room was very comfortable with interesting furnishings and nice bedding. The location was great for the metro, a variety of restaurants and the sights and tours. I would also recommend the shuttle service from Dulles airport that I arranged at the same time as my Expedia hotel booking. The hotel gave me a map and booked a 48 hour hop-on hop-off bus which was very convenient and good value. Each day I had complimentary bottled water and a Washington Post newspaper from room service. I have no negative remarks as the hotel fully met my requirements as a lone traveller in a foreign city.

Area recommendations
Visit the memorials, monuments and the Smithsonian galleries and museums which are all free to enter. It is easy to walk to the White House and surrounding areas from the Lombardy Hotel but I would recommend the nearby metro and the hop-on hop-off bus tour for getting around the city.

“Yes ! I would stay there again”

We had a great experience staying at Hotel Lombardy ! The location was perfect. The housekeeping/maid services was excellent. Our room was extremely clean. The bed was very very comfortable. We just loved it and were very pleased. We had complimentary wifi. I would stay there again & always recommend it to anyone. The Hotel was also close to the Metro which was great easy access. We loved Washington DC and one week just wasn't enough time to see everything, so that means I have to plan another trip to Washington DC !

Area recommendations
Foggy Bottom area is a good area to stay in. We were very very pleased with the Hotel Lombardy, with the location of it, with the service, overall our stay was great !
