“Hmm bit concerning”

In general ok however none of the doors lined up resulting in gaps which concerned us as to the safety of the room. We kept all valuables on us at all times. The lever to change from shower to bath wouldn't work so the shower wouldnt work, not good after being out in the cold til 11-12 at night. The toilet roll holder was so tightly fit we could get the paper off! Granted these got fixed at our request, again not good at that time of night! Also not great pillows take your own if you can. Not alot of places to eat near this hotel so we ate in and it was pretty good.

Area recommendations

Go and see all the monuments and do the night tour first! They were fantastic. This was our 'education' leg of our trip to america so we didnt even visit the shopping district but then we were only there for 1 full day 2 nights.

Getting around

Hop on Hop off buses were pretty good, not always reliable on timing but not bad

“Great location”

Changed our hotel at the last minute to be closer to downtown. Once here we were glad we did. Short walk to most museums and the Capital building. Loved our stay in Washington.

“Convenient to National Mall, Reasonably Priced”

Nice hotel. Needs some updating but was clean. Starbucks attached to hotel and CVS adjacent to hotel are very convenient. Hotel location is great.....very close to L'Enfant Metro stop and super convenient to National Mall.

“extremely convenient location”

The staff is extremely helpful, accomodating, friendly & polite. Reading past reviews it was recommended to request a room located away from the train station. I was given a room overlooking the courtyard (which was very quiet- too quiet for me!) I've always enjoyed 'city sounds' so to the the surprise of the reservationist!, I instead picked a room facing the street near that train station! The hotel location is phenomenal. Several short blocks away from the Metro and many attractions. If I wasn't walking, I was using the Metro. McDonalds, or subway shops, CVS, and Starbucks all within steps of the hotel. No hotel shuttle, but taxi's always available.

“Good location for sightseeing”

This is a really good location for sightseeing around the mall area. 1 block from the Air and Space Museum. One downside is there is a very limited amount of nearby restaurants. If you walk about 5 blocks there are a lot more options. Our air conditioner seemed noisy but otherwise we were happy with the room.

We liked being in this area near the mall, lots of things to see within easy walking distance.

“We enjoyed our stay”

We are a family of four, tourists from abroad and were at this hotel in October 2011 for our first visit as a family to Washington DC. The location is wonderful, very close to the Mall and just a couple of minutes on foot to the Air and Space museum. The metro is around the corner. We took a room with two double beds - it was very comfortable. Service was good. The hotel is surrounded by government offices, so the area is pretty deserted at night - we felt safe enough but not suitable for those who want the "action" to be within walking distance at night. It was fine for us as we came in after long days of sightseeing and ate at the hotel restaurant (kid ate free from the kids menu as accompanied by paying adult) and fell into bed. I even got loads of laundry done (need quarters, reception were able to get me enough). We're glad we stayed here.

“Great location, right near air and space”

Hotel was very well taken care of. The location was phenomenal-walking distance to all the museums and monuments, and safe. You couldn't beat the value compared to hotels around the area
