Beautiful and elegant hotel, close to everything of importance. Over-the-top courteous and helpful staff, very tuned in to providing the best possible experience for their guests. Pricey, to be sure, but I felt that I got my money's worth.
I was in town for the Army Ten Miler. Check-in was very easy and the staff was so helpful in getting me a taxi right away so I could make it to the expo on time to get my race bib, as I was running late. The room was larger than expected. I liked the separate living and sleeping spaces so I didn't have to eat either in bed or at the desk when I brought food back to the room. Loved that there were separate TVs in the living and sleeping spaces and that the bathroom opened into each. The refrigerator was very effective at keeping my drinks cold - I did have to turn it to the coldest setting, but a soda put in on Saturday evening was still cold on Monday morning. The restaurant was also very convenient. I was able to walk downstairs and get food to go pretty quickly. Overall, a great experience!
My husband and I went for a romantic getaway to DC. We enjoyed the hotel, complimentary coffee hour and restaurant. The staff is helpful but unobtrusive. Place is clean and has cool artsy character, high ceilings and clean cozy rooms.
The hotel is well placed, on a quiet street just around the corner from many restaurants and Du Pont Circle. The well kept hotel is classic, with a very professional staff and everything you need. There's a fridge and a coffee maker in the room as well as a robe and umbrellas. Nice big TV too. The queen room I got was cozy, but the desk had a power outlet and very good lighting for doing work. There was a conveniently placed power outlet on the nightstand as well. They had cookies out for the guests on Friday night, and they have newspapers available as well.
My husband and I were in town for the 39th annual Marine Corps Marathon and the staff at the Avenue couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone was friendly and we loved that they gave us a late check out so that we could freshen up after the race. The room was very clean and stylish. It was only a short walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro station and a few blocks to Georgetown. I would stay here again!
This was a family trip. Really did no research on the area but did check Tripadvisor prior to booking. Only complaint was parking fee and parking tax. Was in a lovely very upscale area. Room was spacious. Staff very pleasant. Will most certainly consider for future trips to DC.
