“Great hotel”
I stayed 3 nights at Hilton Garden and I really enjoyed. Staff was really kind, great service, comfortable room (complimentary wifi internet) and best location. Walking distance to main attractions (White House, National Mall, Museums, Capitol, Memorials, etc). Breakfast is not included in the room price but I recommend having breakfast at hotel (buffet, really good).
“We spent a week here”
One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was the proximity to many of the DC sights we wanted to see. Little did we know that homeless people basically lined the street and nearby McPhearson square/park. Some were aggressive and we did not feel safe being out after dark. Our room faced 14th street which was very noisy at night, not to mention the constant police or ambulance sirens. There was also an assault that occured in the park during our stay. On the plus side, our room was large and the staff was responsive. Our bathtub was not draining properly and they fixed it immediately. The staff in the hotel restaurant was very friendly as well. The main reason for rating this hotel 3 instead of 4 was the location, not the service.
“Good location.”
My only complaint was people yelling in the hallway all Friday night. I'm sure this wasn't the hotel's fault, but it was annoying.
“Great centrally located Hotel”
My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn DC for the last two nights of our USA honeymoon tour and were delighted with our choice. The location is fantastic with the White House within a 5min walk and many other great places to go and see in slightly longer walking distance. The hotel itself had everything you'd need for a tourist stop with free WiFi, use of a computer & printer by reception, Fridge, Microwave, comfortable bed and smart clean washroom. One of the reasons for our stop in DC was that I have been a Redskins fan from the age of about 7 and we had purchased tickets to watch them at home against the 49ers (a loss unfortunately) but the ease of travel was great. The Metro station is 2mins from the hotel and after a short cheap (compared to London underground) clean journey and a pleasant walk we arrived at FedEx field. The only less than perfect thing about the hotel was the expense of parking. We had chosen to drive from New York to DC to see more of America than just flying over it but the downside was that we had to store the car before dropping it of at the airport before departure. Now I'm from the English countryside and so not used to city centre parking but I did feel that the cost of 2 days parking was high. However, when looking for hotels, we couldn't find many well-placed accommodation with parking at all so the price is probably justified.
“Great hotel, great location”
Great service, great hotel, great location. I'd definitely go back.
