“Not Impressed”
We had specifically booked twin bedded room (via Expedia!!! ) some weeks ahead. Twin equals two, no? On arrival there were no twin bedded rooms left!" "Yours was only a request so we could not guarantee it!"! So somebody who booked after us got the room they wanted and we did not. Until the next day. Apologies? No. Regret? None evident. In addition two morning calls were missed and the breakfast order often came out wrong. And if you only want one egg you get charged for three? Is that enough?
“Old School of Georgetown”
I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Georgetown Inn. Positive attributes include its location in the heart of Georgetown, and its professional and courteous staff. My room on the 6th floor (609) was charming (could be romantic) with classic furnishings, and dormer windows with a view of Georgetown, and old school furnishings and a small sitting area. The internet connection was fast. It common to have to pay for internet access, and pricing was comparable to other business class hotels. Negatives were minor and are reported for full disclosure; (Rooms may vary as I viewed another room through an open door, and its decor seemed notably less good.) Reporting on my room; the carpets were a bit old and tired, the bath had older fixtures but functional. Neither detracted from my enjoyment of staying at this hotel. I routinely stay at better business hotels (the previous night at a well known marque Hilton) and I prefer the soulfulness of the Georgetown Inn to the sterile regulation issue of so many hotels. But others might be more critical of the faults. Also the Fitness room is indeed shameful. They had two dumbbell hand weights (5 lbs), two old treadmills facing the wall, and some kind of exercise bike. However, the in-room information states that they will arrange a gym visit for those who request it. Although the exercise room is small, minimal effort on the part of management could improve it to useful, from its current useless state. I look forward to staying here again!
“Charming Accommodations”
Very charming, and conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown. Would recommend adding bigger and newer television sets.
“Convenient to Georgetown, the University and the town”
Centrally-located, functional hotel with friendly staff and a ground floor restaurant that serves good, if not inspired food. This hotel will never be confused with the neighboring Four Seasons, (much less expensive and condition of hotel building and furnishings is a couple stars lower), but if you are looking for good value, smack dab in between Georgetown University and the fun shops of Georgetown the town, then this is your spot.
“Georgetown Inn: great service & location, a bit faded”
