“Good little hotel”
Enjoyed our stay here, the room had everything that we needed only thing was that it was a little on the small side, didn't really bother us we were out most the time sightseeing and the bed was comfy so we were able to rest. there was AC in the room, not the best but good enough. Very close to all the sights, we were only a few blocks away from the White House, we walked it to all the sights, but there are good links to the sights. Clean premises. Good location, accessible from Ronald Reagan airport via the subway. Would stay again.
“Quaint Place”
This is an older hotel in a good area, but a little bit of a walk to the closest metro station. The rooms are pretty small, but it was adequate and clean. Hotel provided a complementary continental breakfast, with good options.
“would back again”
in general is good, good location and offer free water, coffee and tea the whole day..
“Never again”
Booked this hotel in a hurry, I should have taken the time to read the reviews on TripAdvisor, then maybe I could have avoided this hotel. I have stayed in approximately 50 hotels in my lifetime and this one was by far the worst. Pros: -Fairly good location -Reasonably peaceful neighborhood Cons: -Elevator doesn't work and probably never will (according to a review on TripAdvisor it has been out of service for 5 years) -WiFi in room did not work, had to go half way down the hallway or go down to the lobby to get a workable signal -Extremely small room (double bed occupied approximately 70% of the room) -Bed was uncomfortable, sagged in the middle -Staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and uninterested in guests concerns -Unpleasant musky/moldy smell throughout the hotel, especially the stairs -No exhaust fan in the bathroom, and door wouldn't close My advise is choose somewhere else to stay!
“Great location, but thats it...”
Our first impression was fantastic. Very classic, historical building turned fancy hotel. This changed once we found that the elevator wasn't working, and hadn't been for quite some time. Then our room was just a surprise. When we opened the door our bed was right there. A double bed in a room just able to fit the bed. The two of us cramped in this closet together was not what we were looking for. The breakfast was sorry too. All bread and carbs. Not a fruit to be found. But thankfully, it is one block from Whole Foods where we got some healthy breakfast. For our room price, we were robbed. Find a better bang for buck!!
“Just a regular hotel for good price”
I chose this hotel for the price deal and the fact that it was located not that far from the Mall (20 minutes walk, 10 minutes to the nearest Metro Station - seems longer when the temperature is above 100 F). It was better than a hostel. We got one of the smallest rooms they have available, big enough to fit the bed and a table. But the bathroom was very decent and the AC was working! It was a 2star location that met our expectations - a bad for the night to crash till the morning. Not a place to hang out at :) Breakfast was nice but lobby was crowded. Can recommend for someone on a budget who just needs some privacy for the night.
“hope your suitcase isn't heavy”
the elevator wasn't working this time or the last time I stayed. convenient location, super affordable, tiny room, has had some new carpet etc.
“District Hotel Disastor!!”
This is the worst hotel I have ever seen! Upon check in, I was told that they could not afford to update safety conditions so the elevator was locked down. My room was dirty, paint peeling off the baseboards and door frames, black sticky spots ojn the carpet, ceiling & desk lights not working, no water pressure in the bath tub, ceiling cracked and coming down and most of the windows were inoperable! I immediately complained at the desk (another guest was complaining htat her toilet and tub would drain) and asked that they cancel my reservation for the next night. The clerk said the owner would contact me, of which he never did. When I checked out the next day, again I voiced my concerns, was told that no complaint had been registered about my room and that the owner would contact me. No reply!
“Worst hotel ever”
Lousy service and small rooms.
“Not well maintined”
Decent sized room, but had to have maintenance fix the lock, the air conditioning. I stayed because all my requests were met. Hard to find parking as the hotel has only four spaces available. I knew it would be difficult and it was. Location convenient to Shaw and Dupont neighborhoods.
