“would definitely come back”
Although the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of "downtown" that is what actually appealed to me. The metro station was around the corner, which made it very convenient to get around. In addition, there were always taxis waiting by the front door. A parking garage is actually connected to the hotel, which proved to be invaluable. Although there aren't many stores in the immediate area, the Starbucks, Subway, and CVS were more than enough for "emergency" visits. The service staff was very professional and courteous, and the small dining area was more than enough for a good breakfast. The proximity to the stadium is a bonus for those that intend to check out a baseball game. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Washington.
“Nice rooms - bad food”
Room was nice, bed was super comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located. The breakfast, however, was terrible. Go for the room - find somewhere else to eat.
“My Second Home”
I love the location. Walking distance to National Mall. Two blocks from the National Park Stadium where the Washington Nationals play. Easy to get to from Maryland and Virginia. Metro Subway at next block.
“Phillies Weekend”
Excellent value here. Great location - close to stadium and metro. Very clean, excellent breakfast. Reasonably priced. Cons - had a dead car battery and parking staff was no help (but front desk was helpful), was initially told our breakfast was not part o fprice but was later told that it was. Bar needs more helpers after Phillies game lets out. Overall, would definitely recommend and come bac!
“Not what we expected”
I was misled to believe the hotel was closer to the capitol and local sites but it wasn't a short walk. The metro WAS close and very easy to use so we decided to stay both nights as planned. The hotel staff was nice but their recommendations for restaurants were not the best. The restaurants on 8th street were great but not an easy walk for two kids (4 and 6 years old). We went to Molly Malone and Ugly Mug. The immediate area was not the best especially with the construction going on. The parking lot had very limited spaces but the staff were able to park it for us. The chlorine in the pool was VERY high the first day and we weren't able to stay but more than a few minutes. The second day, the level was acceptable. The price was good and metro was close.
“myra oria”
Hotel was a wonderful find. Had an almost 100% satisfaction expereince - only downside was our room ac was not working, i called to have it serviced and no one ever game - it took 2 calls to get the issue resolved (it was close or over 100 degrees outside!) Hotel was clean, had a fresh new look to it. Front reception desk demonstrated outstanding customer service for guests, always with a smile and friendly response. Best feature is that hotel is 100% smoke free!!! Neighborhood is in transition - very little to do around hotel except for Washington Nationals ballpark, cvs and Starbucks a block away. Convienently located to Metro.
“Superb location for baseball fans”
Just a few minutes walk from the Metro and nationals park, and as easy stroll to the Capitol (albeit through less than salubrious surroundings). We checked in on a Friday evening after a long days travel, just as a band started playing on the 2nd floor immediately below us. The staff moved us immediately upon request to another room higher up in the hotel.
“Good Hotel - Right by Nationals Park and Metro Station”
Well, I'll just tell you the story and you decide - We had a tour to the White House and, stupid me, I dropped my wife's Driver's License in the cab. Yes, it was stupid and I couldn't have felt any worse for her, or me. However when my wife called Manny, our Bellman, at the Courtyard, he remembered the cabdriver and company, called them up, located the cab who then found my wife's license and then they dropped it off at the White House visitor's entrance to us. Without Manny's help and assistance I would still be up a creek without a paddle!! So the people at Courtyard by Marriott care enough to go out of their way. The room was comfortable and always clean. The area still has a way to go before you can say you have a choice of food places, but with all of the building planned around there I think in a bit it will be a place and area to stay. Right next to the Metro. We took it everywhere and it made things easy.
“location was great”
It is close to the DOT in Washington DC
“Would stay here again.”
Nice appearance, very clean and well maintained hotel. Very courteous and helpful hotel staff. Immediate neighborhood is redeveloping mix of commercial and residential apartments, but well lighted and seemed safe, however, lacks nearby sit-down restaurants (other than fast food). Although it is possible to walk to the Capital and National Mall area from the hotel, it's a little far and after dark you must pass through an area of questionable safety (Interstate overpass environs), but Metro and Bus stops are just one block from hotel in well lighted area. This hotel and location worked for my wife and I, and we would stay at this location again.
