We spent 6 nights there We spent 6 nights there

Pros: It was a nice small hotel in a good neighborhood location. The beds and sheets were very good.
Cons: The only thing would have been a slightly bigger room and more storage.
Location: We especially liked the italian restaurant Dupont Italian Kitchen at 1637 17th St NW. Abu, the person who greeted us at the hotel recommended it.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Really good location near many restaurants and the Metro is just a few blocks away at Dupont Circle. We did not eat any meals at the hotel so am unable to comment .We prepared our own breakfast in the room. Coffee, fridge, small stove and refrigerator in room. Safeway nearby also.

Cool Art Deco hotel near Dupont Circle in D.C.

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: I really enjoyed the Art Deco style of the hotel. Since I was visiting family I didn't eat at the hotel except a breakfast, so can't comment on that.
Cons: Not so much a complaint as a comment: my bed had an "original" Tempurpedic mattress that was very firm but then molded to form - might not suit all.
Location: Dupont circle has many stores and restaurants; also the Phillips Collection, which has some very good art, especially Renoir's Boating Party Luncheon.
I spent 4 nights at the Carlyle while visiting family members and enjoying some D.C. sights. The hotel is about a 10 - minute walk from the Dupont Circle Metro station so is both convenient and in a nice part of town. I happened to arrive on Amtrak at Union Station so it was an easy trip on the Red Line to Dupont Circle. I appreciated the fact that the room included a small kitchen so I could buy a few things at the nearby Safeway.

Lovely hotel in great area

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: Quiet area close to public transport
This was our first visit to Washington and we were delighted with our choice of hotel. The location near Dupont Circle was close to the subway and had numerous great places to eat within easy walking distance. Our room was well equipped and was very quiet at night. I highly recommend this hotel.

A nice hotel in a lovely area of Washington DC

Posted 22-Nov-2014
Pros: It is clean and well run.
Location: The hotel is located in a good area of Washington and close to Dupont Circle which has transport links to the city.
A nice hotel in a lovely area of Washington DC. The area is where most of the embassies for other countries are located and it has a high-class feel to it.

Excellent neighbourhood

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Cons: Restaurant/bar staff were not good. Service poor & I felt we were were ripped off with excessive tip included in bill. Didn't go there again.
This hotel was in a lovely neighbourhood in the very conveniently located Dupont Circle. There are lots of restaurants within a block of the hotel. The room does have a small hotplate stove, microwave and fridge and there is a Safeway store with a good range of preprepared meals if you wanted to eat in. The beds, towels and shower were excellent. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Metro station a 5 minute walk away.

Jewel Near Dupont Circle

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: Room was just the right size for the two of us.
Location: Close to Dupont Circle. Metro station right there.
First time in DC. Great hotel near Dupont Circle. Metro nearby if you want to use it. Because of the beautiful weather, we walked to almost all our destinations. Room was wonderful. Kitchen with Keurig for early morning coffee. You could eat meals in your room if desired. Bathroom and dressing area beautiful. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Visited the bar one evening and had a great time. Sunday we went to the wonderful brunch. Unlimited bloody marys or mimosas. Brunch covers both breakfast food lovers and those of us who would rather have salads and other lunch items. Would go back again.
