“very good, in spite of neighborhood”
Close to the Capitol and House office buildings. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great! The only drawback was a somewhat iffy neighborhood. But I took cabs, so it was not an issue.
“No internet in rooms”
Rooms are fine, and the hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from metro station and about 20 min walk from some museums, which is convenient. However, they promise internet in the rooms, which is not quite true. We changed several rooms, and in none of them internet worked for more than 10 minutes. There is business center on the first floor with 2 chairs in the hallway, but it is hard to work there, since there is always music in the lobby, the internet is extremely slow, and the connection breaks every 5-10 minutes. They promise hot breakfast, but the only hot thing there is a toast you can make. Also, the mattress was not very comfortable. There is a free hotel shuttle to some places in the city center, but it is one-way only. The neighborhood at night looks a little scary, so I would not walk from the metro alone. There is also no air-conditioning in rooms and it can get stuffy.
“Clean & Comfortable”
Clean and comfortable hotel room. Hotel did not have a restaurant nor lounge.
“It is an O.K. hotel.”
A conveniently located hotel with reasonable price. Very clean, but also has noisy traffic going by day and night. Take your earplugs with you if you decide to stay at this hotel. The staff is very warm and helpful.
“Reasonably priced and clean”
The room was comfortable, quiet, clean, and nicely furnished. The neighborhood isn't the best and getting anywhere means a cab ride. I was unimpressed with the hotel restaurant.
“A Nice Place when you are a tourist on foot.”
I stayed 6 nights at the Capitol Skyline on vacation and had a great room with a view of the Capitol, which is about 5 blocks away. I didn't have a car, which would cost $25 / night +4. tax to park. I caught a ride to sights most mornings on their free van shuttle, which only delivers you, but will not pick you up. I was able to walk to many sights and had a wonderful time. The room was very nice for the money and well decorated and clean. The shower has little volume ( a heavy mist) but was adequate. The Metro train is about 4 blocks awy and will bring you all around the city and back for usually$1.85. I would definately go back to the Skyline and was impressed by their helpful and nice staff. It was also quiet.
“Please DO NOT go to this hotel.....”
The hotel is very pretty but in a pretty sketchy area. There was a police station and fire station within a block from the hotel and that is what you heard all night long. The window looked like it had been replaced and there was a huge gap completely across it; you could hear everything outside the window. The air conditioning was broken, the safe got jammed, there was hair in my breakfast, and the parking costs $29.00 a night plus applicable fees. By the time you spend all of that money and deal with the hotel/'s problems; you could have saved yourself the trouble and stayed somewhere nicer. Arlington, Alexandria, Georgetown, and Dupont Circle are minutes from downtown...... Stay there instead!!!!!!
“Good”
Convenient for its price, good service.
“Not Impressed, rude people.”
Throughout the long check in the hotel attendants were rude, we asked for directions no one seemed to know where anything was, I found this odd being that we were in Washington. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, the bed did not come with a fitted sheet, only two standard sheets. If the staff would have been more friendly I think our stay could have been better. For the value, not in a decent neighborhood, no restaurant (except McDonalds across the street).
“good.”
For that price that was really cool. Cant complain....
