“Nice high quality with affordable rates”
The hotel had nice high quality with affordable rates. They even served grits and eggs with complimentary breakfast.
“good for the price”
room is clean and nice, the heating system is noisy ,good free breakfast ,location is not that good
“Avoid if you can”
The lobby smells, the outside area is quite shady and looks risky.rooms average with worst view u can imagine.
“Good Hotel But Needs to Take Care of Guests”
I want to emphasize that the problems I describe here were dealt with by the overworked night staff (desk manager and shuttle bus driver/handyman who went out of their way to solve the problem of our room. I have stayed in this hotel over the years but this was worst experience and perhaps the last time. It looks as if management has cut staffing to the bone. At hotel desk I waited for nearly 20 minutes. The clerk was with a guest of the hotel who had a problem. The guest explained the problem at least five times & the clerk kept forgetting details -- because he never wrote anything down -- instead repunching the same mistakes into the computer over and over again. No one else came out to help and he kept repeating mistakes. The guest, a businessman, was very patient and stepped aside to let me check-in. The clerk finally got to me. We loaded up a baggage cart and went up to the sixth floor. We found a nice room at well over 100 degrees. It is seemed as if policy is to completely turn off air conditioning between guests. Downstairs lobby was cool and pleasant. Upper level lobbies and room were very hot. Room faced afternoon sun directly unshaded. We set the AC on cool & hoped for the best. I went downstairs to use the "business center" which is a computer in an open area with children playing on it. A child got up but no obvious reset function for privacy and screen faced a group of children hanging out. Hotel also needs to reduce loitering in parking lot.
“Great Service”
The first room did not have a working AC but the front desk took care of it.
“Was ok”
The hotel itself is ok and fairly nice but it's a terrible area. Taking the subway was awful and unsafe as where closer to DC itself there were multiple police and it was more secure. Taking the shuttle to the metro station was nice and helpful but I wouldn't go again unless I rented a car. Too bad because it's not anything with the specific hotel, just a horrible area...
“it was nice”
Check in was quick. We were there for one night and the beds were very comfy. We were able to use the pool even though the water was very cold.. The breakfast was good and we were satisfied. It was convenient because of the location where we were traveling. Thank you
“Not bad for the price!”
Good breakfast. Convenient to the Metro. Clean rooms.
“It was cheap”
It was a cheap room.
“Good for the price we paid.........”
Older hotel, 20 minutes from DC. Red Lobster, McDonald's, Popeye's, Bojangles and KFC, local "cuisine" nearby. I picked up a pizza @ Domino's and had to get buzzed in through the front door @ the restaurant - although they do deliver. The lounge/restaurant in the hotel is open only on Fri & Sat night for a house/booty shakin' party. The hotel did a good job managing the crowd & parking lot, taking care of hotel guests first. Free cont breakfast was unimpressive - bland. The pool used to be outdoors but is now enclosed. Overall pool is in poor repair. You have to access the pool through basement. There was a lifeguard on duty. The vending maching on our floor was empty. Our TV was old and had very few channels. I called maintenance and they did nothing to fix it. Wireless internet was good. Room was standard size. The desk area didn't allow much room to put a chair in front of it. Bathroom was ok, but tub backed up ankle deep. Housekeeping wasn't bad, but not great. Guests were loud, mainly because there was a dance/cheer competition @ the DC Convention Center and many of the families stayed at this hotel, mine included. The desk called my mother's room @ 11:30pm (a 66 year old woman with bad feet) and asked her to stop jumping on the bed. 2 elevators are tiny and barely fit the cart for luggage. Small gift shop w/DC souveneirs and sundries. Price was right, but given the choice I may have stayed somewhere else.
