“As pleasing as ever”
As a result of past experience of this hotel, I chose to return after an interval of some years' absence from the area, and was very pleased with that decision. Building modifications added to the quality of the visit. Having previously been housed in the more modern area, it was gratifying to find the older part just as comfortable and well-equipped. Welcome and service were as pleasing as ever, and the courtyard garden provided an alternative place for relaxation in the good weather. Breakfasts set one up for the day, and although my room overlooked the main street, secondary double-glazing cut any noise from there. I would go back again any time. Suggestion: better signposting around the ancient passageways, please !!And attention to ancient window catches in older rooms.
“Excellent”
We stayed for 1 night. Initially we were offered a room which was next to main road and tiny in size. We wanted to change the room. They accommodated our request immediately. The new room was spacious and very comfortable. It has perfect location and everything you want to see ( 4 houses out of 5) are within walking distance. Hotel staffs are very helpful and top class. I will strongly recommend this hotel.
“Much better than expected”
We have stayed in The Falcon in the past when visiting Stratford-on-Avon to go to the theatre. A few years ago we booked a room on-line and were extremely disappointed to find on arrival that because of double-booking, we had been booked into alternative accommodation located at an inconvenient distance from the theatre. After quite heated discussion we were booked into the Mercure, located on the opposite side of the street. From that day I vowed never to stay at The Falcon again. This year we had tickets to see Macbeth at the RSC and found that no other hotels close to the theatre had rooms available except for The Falcon. I made the booking with a heavy heart and low expectations. How surprised I was on the day! The room we had, in the old part of the hotel, was very clean and comfortable. It had been refurbished in a contemporary style. The service on arrival and throughout was courteous and professional. The criticisms that we have relate to housekeeping and the breakfast menu. In our room, the shower curtain had a small stain on it which looked like blood but could have been make-up; the curtain in the bathroom had been cut to size but not hemmed and the wooden blind had a thin coating of dust. Finally, cheese and meat are constituent parts of a continental breakfast. To offer fruit juice, fresh fruit, toast, croissants, cereals, yoghurts and tea is no substitute! Overall though a much better stay than I had imagined in an improved hotel.
“Can't wait to go back!!”
We found the Flacon Hotel to be an absolute joy! From cream teas served in the garden to the great meals in the pub, we loved every minute of our stay. I cannot think of any place in Stratford that is more convienient or comfortable. Then, of course, there is the absolutely beautiful older section of the hotel where we often settled in for a cup of tea and a good book. Our ten days, spanning all of the Shakespeare events, the reopening of the RSC's new theatre, a literary conference, and the Royal Wedding, absolutely flew. I cannot wait to go back.
“Sunny Stratford”
I booked this hotel as a central port ,as I was meeting up with family in Stratford. The hotel is very central, and it was lovely being next to so many old buildings. The food in the hotel was good, the waiting staff were attentive, although a little unsure in the wine selection that they had, when offered a Chanti, it was because "we have a few we are trying to get rid of"!, at £23 a bottle I would expect a better recommendation. The hotel could do with a little referbishment and parking was very tight, although free parking in central Straford is vey useful.A twin room with 2 single beds was adequate, but the pillows were very hard and the duvet very synthetic. My room over looked a buliding site, and although this was not a problem during my stay, I can imagine during the week when they are working on the site, it would be a problem with noise and dust. On the Saturday evening all the local eateries were full, but enjoyed a very pleasnt pub meal in the bar, at a ver reasonable rate.
“stratford hidden gem”
Lovely hotel very friendly and helpful staff plenty to offer right in the centre of stratford. Good breakfast and choice/range of food and beverages, free parking a bonus! Only niggle was the large double bed had been pushed together and so had an uncomfortable ridge/dip down the middle!
“Stratfords jewel”
Hotel was beautiful! Bedroom was great,Staff were fantastic,Breakfast and dinner were scrumptious,Great log fires. Only downside was...there wasn't one!!! Would recommend this hotel all the time.
“All Good”
Comfortable Hotel, Helpful Staff, Great location
“In the heart of Stratford”
Nice hotel, very well located, free wi-fi. Really would recommend it.
“Excellent Hotel”
Only had a two day break but hotel was very central and all attractions were close at hand. The continental breakfast was substantial and impressive - full English upgrade available but was not needed. I would love to stay again!
