An excellent B&B in a delightful spot

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Cons: Nothing needz improvement
Location: Handy to Stonehenge & Bath
The owners were very welcoming & made us feel at home. This B&B is among the very best we have stayed in, and we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to our friends. The breakfast was scrumptious & the home made jams added that little extra.

Very quiet, homely guest house.

Pros: see above
Cons: nothing
Location: find out for yourself you lazy dog!
As I wrote in their visitors' book, the room was immaculate, the fittings all worked perfectly and the personal interaction was all one could wish for. One must travel far to encounter such excellence these days. The bedroom was clean, comfortable, silent and dark, and thus conducive to a great night's sleep, which I enjoyed, before jogging up to Scratchbury Camp and along the river Wylie, working up an appetite for a "full English" which was cooked to perfection. Upon departure I was kindly ferried to the nearest rail station. No one could ask for more!

A nice quiet well maintained Bed & Breakfast. Breakfast was excellent the landlady very helpful and the rate for the night very reasonable. I was extremely satisfied with my stay considering I only booked the room about 2 hours before.

It was a nice, quirky place to stay, we got there and got the key then went straight down the pub for some food, there was no checking in or messing about, just like going home really. The rooms were nice and the breakfast superb. DIfferent too that it used to be a post office and general store. I loved all the photos, art and collectables that you can see around on the walls, very homely. All in all a very pleasant stay in a lovely village with two great pubs!

Great location

Stayed here for one night returning from Jersey via Poole as we wanted to visit Longleat the next day. Could not have chosen better. Very quiet village location but close to all amenities. Room very comfortable in lovely listed cottage which had previously been the village post office. Breakfast was perfect.

The couple who ran the place gave the best service and price for the type of accommodation. The breakfast was an outstanding experience with wonderful attention to detail. I even had a penguin teapot with wonderful made Marmalade.

Enjoyable relaxing overnight stay

Posted 03-Mar-2013
Pros: Spotlessly clean
Location: Hourly bus service until just after 18.30 on a Saturday, easy to get a taxi back if you do not want to drive.
Stayed in the Lavender Room, and had one of the best nights sleep I've had for ages. Felicity made us feel so welcome and room was spotless. Fantastic breakfast, with so much choice, cooked breakfast super. Really enjoyed the overnight stay.
