Good value hotel in the centre of town

Posted 18-May-2015
Pros: Managed was very friendly, helpful and very busy keeping everyone happy.
Location: We stayed because of our trip to Longleat nearby. It is on the edge of Salisbury Plain so there is a lot of touristy things nearby.
We stayed overnight after a day at Longleat. The room was large, clean and looked lovely with dark wood furniture and white bed linen. We has an evening meal in the bar which was tasty, hot and looked and tasted good!

Nice budget hotel

Pros: Breakfast was great.
Staff were very friendly. It was a little noisy at night; but we were well informed by the staff and I also received a welcome note with noise condition soon after the online reservation; so no complaints.

Very nice helpfull staff an conveniently situated. My only criticism would be the evening meal although my freinds meals were ok.Perhaps I was unlucky but apart from that I would thoroughly reccomend THE OLD BELL and would stay their again.

Positive experience

Posted 16-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
I was made aware that there was a function and was out for the night so the noise did not bother me. It was flagged before I made the booking and at checkin . Parking is restricted and could be an issue if they were busy. The room was clean, furnished to a good standard and very warm . The stairs were steep and the ensuite was up steps so not suitable if you have mobility issues but again this was flagged at point of booking. The hotel has bags of character and the staff very professional and friendly especially the young lady serving breakfast.Overall a positive experience .

The room was very comfortable a bit cold on the first night but as soon as we told them they got an engineer out to fix the boiler. The staff were lovely and the breakfast very good. We had a lovely stay.

Clean and comfy with friendly service

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Stayed one night at the old bell inn. We were met with friendly service and the rooms were clean and spacious. The Food in the pub downstairs was really good. We had been warned about the late license on Saturday's but the noise not excessive and we enjoyed a late night game of cards in the next room.
