Positive experience

Posted 16-Dec-2014 on Hotels.com
I was made aware that there was a function and was out for the night so the noise did not bother me. It was flagged before I made the booking and at checkin . Parking is restricted and could be an issue if they were busy. The room was clean, furnished to a good standard and very warm . The stairs were steep and the ensuite was up steps so not suitable if you have mobility issues but again this was flagged at point of booking. The hotel has bags of character and the staff very professional and friendly especially the young lady serving breakfast.Overall a positive experience .

good place to stay

Posted 29-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com
The room was very comfortable a bit cold on the first night but as soon as we told them they got an engineer out to fix the boiler. The staff were lovely and the breakfast very good. We had a lovely stay.

Clean and comfy with friendly service

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Stayed one night at the old bell inn. We were met with friendly service and the rooms were clean and spacious. The Food in the pub downstairs was really good. We had been warned about the late license on Saturday's but the noise not excessive and we enjoyed a late night game of cards in the next room.

Very nice inn close to Longleat

Posted 30-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely place to stay if you are down visiting Longleat Safari park as I was. Its only a 10 minute drive, and is very reasonable. The accomodation is a Traditional Inn with a few rooms, and a very nice pub / restaurant. The room was modern and spacious, with a comfy bed. There was no noise from the pub below. The hotel is located on the towns main street, so there are plenty of options for food locally, if you don't have food downstairs. The breakfast was included and was excellent, keeping us going until about 4pm. If I was in the area I would go back as it was very nice especially for the money.

Overnight stop

Posted 28-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Used as a stopover to visit Longleat with my family. We were advised at booking that the hotel had a late licence but we didn't think it would be a problem. We arrived late, around 9.30pm and were shown to our room by a friendly member of the bar team, the Friday night was in full swing and the music was very loud in our room. This wasn't a problem however and after parking the car a short distance away we managed to get to sleep. The breakfast in the morning was superb, good choice and well cooked. Overall very pleased and would definitely use again.

It was the perfect location for Longleat, a beautiful courtyard and wonderful, friendly staff that couldn't do enough for us.

A good hotel in a convenient location

Friendly, welcoming, good beer and food. Have clearly made an effort to provide a quality room at the price and despite warnings it was not noisy (mid-week stay mind you)

A good night in

Posted 23-Sep-2014
Pros: The room was spacious, light and clean. Tea , coffee and biscuits were provided. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it.
Cons: The only thing I could possibly fault is the water pressure in the shower.....
Location: Longleat safari park
We stayed at the Old Bell for one night. We'd travelled to Warminster for a family party and got so much more than we bargained for. The Old Bell was still open when we got back from the party so we joined in the dancing. The pub had a lovely friendly fun atmosphere.
