We had a self contained unit with bathroom and kitchenette. It was clean, had everything we needed, was close to everything, and everyone was really friendly. The bathroom was tiny and the decor was a little tired but it was clean and the beds were really comfortable. In short, it is fantastic, value for money accommodation

We know that this is a hostel but at least there should be a time for other guests to minimize noises. We stayed at an ensuite private room no. 3, next room no. 4 who were so noisy, at 11:45pm I couldn't help myself but knocked on their wall to signal that they were so noisy. Even just a notice on each room's wall no minimize the noise from 11pm, other guests need to rest and sleep. Thanks.

Hi, thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear you didn't have restful sleep with us. We do ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum from 10pm and this is written on the information sheet given to each guest and posted in each room. Unfortunately, this year we haven't been able to employ night staff, who would ordinarily ensure the hostel is quiet at night. If you choose to stay with us again, we will do our best to put you in a quieter room.

Good location, clean and pleasant
Stayed in a 3-bed dorm. Room had an ensuite. Was clean and customer service at the front desk was friendly. Good location, only a few minutes away from the lakefront. Fair number of free parking spots at the property and surrounding area.

Good budget accomodation
We stayed for 3 nights (not in a row) in the ensuite unit . We were looking for budget accomodations at Wanaka. Unit was pretty small and basic, but sufficient for a couple. It had good shower. Communal kitchen was clean and managed. However, in the last stay sheets were not clean. Noise could be heard from the corridor if that might an issue. Overall we had a nice stay, and would recommend it as budget accomodation.

Alright for a night!
Has everything you need for a nights stay- good facilities and plenty to keep you occupied. We stayed in a private room with shared kitchen/bathroom facilities. The only downside was the bathroom was abit dated and the shower leaked a lot! Also the hooked lock on the door allowed it to open slightly for others to see in but apart from that everything else was great and would stay again.

Good quick stay. I had a private room and it was perfect for the night. I was glad there was a bathroom in the room and I didn't have to go out into a cold hallway. I'd recommend the place.

For a YHA it was nice enough, very nice bathroom and shower facilities. Communal kitchen area also very good.

The hostel was great for what we needed. A clean, safe, conveniently located place to sleep and rest. The view from the hostel was beautiful, there was a big kitchen and common area for people to use. It felt like a nice community, a more authentic experience. The room was small and the hostel itself had no frills to it which we were completely fine with.

Stayed in a double room with ensuite and found both the bathroom and room very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen facilities and excellent location in walking distance of everything. Staff were also helpful on where to go and what to do. Would definitely stay again!

Staff were so friendly and helpful, recommended me to do a 2 hour kayak ride that I thoroughly enjoyed! Clean and spacious, for the 3 bed dorm I got the bed that wasn’t a bunk and it included a private shower and toilet!

We only stayed for night and had a private room with private bathroom, which looked it was built lately. Very clean. I don't know how the rest of the hostel look like, but we were satisfied with our private room. Staff was really nice. For short one night stay, it's all you need.

Comfy hostel with equipped communal kitchen and is within walking distance to a nearby supermarket. However, the staff at reception is a bit disappointing during check in as he was having a chit chat with another person and ignored us till the chat was over.
