My wife and I travel a lot (usually spending up to 3 months away per year), so we've seen one or two hotels in our time (up to and including 5 star). Klosterhoff Eckelsheim was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing places we have stayed in a long time. It is located in a small and pleasant village with Weingut galore (Wineries) and a half decent restaurant down the street. We were working in Bingen and it was only through lack of finding anything else we stayed this far away. We now wouldn't stay anywhere else if we have to return to Bingen again. The accommodation is great if you have kids, as the living room can be converted to two beds. There is also plenty of room in the two roomed suite we stayed in. It is by no means a five star hotel, but I'd take a place like this over a soul-less corporate run plastic hotel as so many 5 stars are. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly, and their beautiful heritage property has been 'greenified' by them. If this is up your street (as it is ours) it is very interesting to talk to them about the restoration of the property and the actions they have taken to reduce the impact of their business on the environment. Our recommendation is to book in and enjoy a wine or beer in their courtyard, you'll be unlikely to want to stay anywhere else!
Nice location with beer garden and very pleasant surroundings just a little out of town. I was in the annex building a little walk away with its own carpark. Breakfast and meals are taken in the main building but only a 3 minute walk away. Breakfast is adequate and restaurant has good menu choices. Rooms are perhaps a little "tired" but clean with coffee making and free internet connection with good strong signal.
This hotel is ideally located overlooking the Rhine river. It is in walking distance to the train station and is steps away from the river tour stop in Bingen. This was very ideal, as it was the reason for our visit. If you get a room with a view, you overlook the beautiful river. A great spot just a ferry ride across from Rudesheim.
The front desk evening clerk was very helpful when we checked in (quite late, after midnight) advising us on the boat tour schedule and touristy things to do.
The lobby of the hotel is very nice - there is a small bar and restaurant on the first floor. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant very very good, a high end spread with some of the most delicious bread I've ever had - however it was quite overpriced at 15 euro per person.
The room was nothing special - the bed was rather hard and there were few extra amenities which I was disappointed not to find (a safe, conditioner/lotion, etc. - small things ). It was quite noisy outside, which could be heard clearly through the windows - but the hotel provided ear plugs for each of us so that was very nice.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are touring the Rhine River. Although we did not spend much time at the hotel, it was a great location for my husband and I to rest our heads while we spent the day touring the beautiful area and the price of the room was a great value!

It's a small, simple hotel, with clean rooms, confortable beds, a good shower and double windows which keep out the street noise. We chose it because of its proximity to the station and trains to the airport (takes 30 minutes) since we had an early flight. The neighborhood is not the nicest but it's not bad and it's walking distance or a short bus ride to the Old Town.

More troubles if you travel with buses at night, since not many lines come close at night.
Try to have included breakfast in your rate, since it will cost you 18 Euro just for breakfast, if paid separately.
