When we arrived, there was no line at the check-in desk, yet, we were asked to wait in the lobby. So, we were waiting and were left unattended until one of the bell boys was kind enough to remind the guest service lady that we were still waiting. Finally, after 15 min., we got greeted. The original hotel reservation was made for 1 person, so I kindly asked the lady about the extra person charge for my cousin to stay in the same room with me (her flight was changed to a different date). The lady took our reservation page, double checked with the guy at the front desk and returned to us stating that it was ‘ok.’ My cousin inquired again, because we were willing to pay an extra cost right away. She assured us that it there was no extra charge. We thought that was nice of the hotel to do so, and we were very pleased. When we were taken to our room, the key card scanner wasn't working, so we spent 40 min. waiting outside for the engineer to come in let us in.
Finally, when we were resting after our jungle trip, we received a call after 9:00pm from the front desk, stating that we owe money for extra person and that my credit card will be charged. I couldn’t believe what I heard and I've never experienced such an unprofessional approach. I thought it had to be an error or miscommunication, therefore, I went to speak with the manager in the morning. The manager apologized and admitted that the lady who checked us in made a mistake by not informing us about extra person charge. The m

The Indian Ocean is very wild and so the swimming is not recommended. There is a swimming pool available. The Ayurveda treatment is very expensive. The 10 days treatment was as expensive as the flight from and to Dubai with breakfast and dinner. The treatment is 1.30 min.
The transfer from and to the airport is 70 $. The fitness room has 4 machines for cardio-vascularise exercises. Two were not working.
The excursions were also very expensive.
Everybody is expecting tips and there is no general tip box. So the maintenance staff and those with low salary will not get anything.
For relaxation one week is enough, o0therwise there are too many issues which cannot be solved.
at only around 50 odd rooms the hotel is of a nice size. Whilst we were there they only had 15-20 guests, all execept us were German. This was supplemented at weekends by local Sri Lankan family's having birthday parties etc in the restaurant, along with some conference guests. Rooms are nice size, with solid wood floors and A/C. Had a king size been which was nice. Ours was cleaned daily and a man comes round at dusk and plugs in a mosquito repellant in your room (good as we were bitten a couple of times). Top tip: Dont let them put the flowers on your pillow each day - it attracts ants into the room. The beach is nice, but nobody seems to use it as the beach-boys are always down there. This tuned out to be a blessing though as we took several tours with the lad called "Sandy" who was very good indeed. All in all a nice quiet hotel for lazing by the pool and switching off for a few days/weeks
