Seville is a fascinating city. The Hotel Dona Maria is a gem. It is located right off the square of the Cathedral. It is so conveniently located that you don't need to take a taxi.
The staff was so helpful and courteous. They gave us suggestions for dinner and the flamenco show/dinner.
The only problem was finding the hotel. It is so difficult driving a car through the old part of the city, one way streets, pedestrian ways, etc. Once you find the hotel you are very pleased. This is the surprise of Seville!
The location is perfect--100 yards from the Cathedral and El Alcazar. Our group of 3 shared a room with 3 twin-sized beds on the top floor of the hotel; it was only 22.5 euros per person per night--on a weekend! The rooms are small but have everything you need. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. The are fluent in English, and they gave us numerous recommendations for restaurants while we were there. The rooms were very clean. I will stay here again if/when I revisit Sevilla.

We stayed in a cathedral facing room with a balcony, had an extremely positive experience. The staff were very responsive and helpful and the hotel and room were in great shape and clean. For a weekend getaway for a couple, the room and hotel were an ideal experience.
This is the best location in Seville, so close to all major attractions and close to some great restaurants. The terrace is a good spot to relax after a long day and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel.
We spent 2 nights at this establishment.
My wife was very ill during this time and the staff were outstanding in assisting us.
We needed to call a doctor which they arranged immediately.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff.
The hotel itself is very well appointed.
Great location. Right in the centre of the old town.
Great buffet breakfast.
We would be back to this hotel in a flash. In fact we tried but it was booked out.

The hotel was formerly a convent. The layout, décor and ornamentation have scarcely changed. Not only are there exquisite tiled surfaces and highly ornamental woodwork, but also religious pictures - even vestments on display. Coming out of the lift on the ground floor we were confronted with a purple chasuble - as it was Lent, this was the correct liturgical colour, so I wondered if they would change it to red on Palm Sunday!
On the ground floor were both a tapas bar and a restaurant, the latter similarly ornamented.

"Great personal service and right by the Cathedral"
The Alminar is a small hotel in a pedestrian side street of the old part of Seville. Francisco's welcome started before our arrival with a very helpful email about parking (which can be very challenging in Seville). Once we found the hotel the check-in was warm and friendly. The rooms are quite small as you'd expect in a city centre hotel, but very clean and well appointed. The wifi and air-con both worked well (modern necessities).
The thing that makes this hotel stand-out for us is Francisco; he simply cannot do enough to help you. His advice on everything from best places to visit, eat and drink is second to none and we ate Michelin star grade tapas at sensible prices in wonderful places thanks to his guidance.
Breakfast is simple and you're probably better going around the corner if you want anything cooked.
I would strongly recommend this hotel!

Great location, nice place - not upscale, but great.
I had cold and rainy weather in the middle of February and there is no central heat (or A/C if you are traveling in the summer). The heater in the room was better than nothing, but barely adequate. I was glad I had checked the weather report in advance and had the appropriate clothing, especially for sleeping.
There was no safe in the room, but I had a suitcase lock and put anything I cared about in the suitcase. I'm a little paranoid so maybe this wasn't necessary, but I wasn't willing to take any chances.
Bring your own electrical adaptor. My room had two outlets. There was a hair dryer but the cord was really tightly wound and it wasn't easy to use.
Definitely check the weather before you go! If it says "rain," bring an umbrella and waterproof footwear! The people over there dress really nicely, but it was more important to be dry than fashionable.
Carry a copy of your passport. You may need it, but don't want to risk losing it. You can keep your passport in your room and use the copy while shopping. No problem.
