I've had a very good experience, I 've stayed 3 or 4 times here. First time we stayed there, we had an issue with smoke smell, even when we booked for a non smoking room but they attempted to solved, and since do not smoke law began is amazing how clear and fresh smells the entire hotel.

I was visiting my son who was studying abroad in Vina Del Mar/ Valparaiso area and it was a great treat for both of us to stay there. The views from the room were spectacular, especially watching the sunsets. The ocean waves crashing against the rocks, the view, the room, etc. all made for a great stay. We had a double room which was spacious and very well decorated. The bathroom was modern and updated and the room had a refridgerator which I removed some stock items to use. The meals were all very good and the breakfast (included ) was plentiful with a large selection of typical breakfast foods, fruits, pastries and lunch meats. The work out room was large with a good selection of equipment. We did not use any of the spa services so I cannot comment on those. The lack of a 'free " hot tub was my only complaint. There appeared to be a hot tub on the roof but it was cold...maybe in season it is warm. The roof pool and view were also spectacular even though it was too cold to use the pool during our visit. Reading and reflection time there were awesome.
Though it seemed as if most of the guests were couples, it was very comfortable for my son and I . I highly recommend the hotel. We were there for two nights and I stayed at two other places for my 5 night visit. I am glad I experienced different venues bit this was by far the best.
This is a great location. We walked to the beaches, Fonk museum, and out for dinners. They have secure covered parking. The staff has good English and the breakfast was great. These two nights were so much better then the more expensive one on the hill in Valpariso!

I think the hotels in Valpo probably should be evaluated with the itself. As this was my first trip to Chile, and after having spent several nights in the best hotel in South America , some expectation setting is in order.
Not ever having been in a 1st to 2nd world country, I had no idea what to expect. Valpo is a much more gritty town than Santiago. Finding this place, even with an iPad GPS, was almost impossible. There is zero logic.. The neighborhood is a mix of decay and hidden wealth.
The interior is like Chile, working hard to be e best it can be. The main area is a welcome relief after driving. The parking lot is okl, if not rough, but your car is safe. The room was the Superior, and definitely smaller than I hoped. I was ok with scaling my impressions to Santiago. I don't know if that is the custom,I'm not an experienced world traveler. The distance to the old town of Valpo was not excessive. About 10 minutes walk through a pretty average area. The breakfast service was simple, with the option of having it in the room.
Valpo is noise, barking dogs and traffic horns.AIs far as Ultramar is far from be the middle of this, I was glad. Internally the walls are not thick.
As it was the first REAL place I saw in Chiile. I don't want to rate the hotel based on that. I was glad I found it, I felt safe, and they would fix anytihng that i found bad. I felt a bit far the action. The taxis there are many, but as I driove myself, I was already a bit shaken by the traffic.
