“This is a good value 3-star hotel by european standards at a convenient location for tourists”

The hotel is located just across the square from the main train & bus stations, & is a 7-8 min stroll from the Gates of Dawn, Old Town. There are great views of the Old Town from rooms at the back of the hotel, particularly at night – ask for one on the 4th or 5th floors, or take the glass side lift to the 5th floor for a peek. The rooms & en-suite bathrooms are compact & clean. The twin-bed room is furnished with bedside tables, reading lights, a desk, chair, telephone, satellite TV with a range of european channels including an english news one. The bathroom has a clean white 3-piece small shower cubicle suite, heated towel rail, hairdryer & plentiful hot water. The room does not have a luggage rack or wardrobe, but a 4-coat-hook wall-hanger instead. Breakfast is a decent hot & cold buffet selection. The hot food section includes baked scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans & a great boiled farmhouse vegetable-mix of carrots, courgettes & broccoli/cauliflower, to help with your 5-a-day diet on the road. The cold selection includes several cuts of ham, pork, salami, soft & hard cheese, boiled eggs, tomatoes & cucumber, sliced black & rye bread, fruit. The let down are the over-processed cereals & watered sugary juice found most everywhere in Lithuania. Stay away from the coffee, & stick with the sachets of black, green & fruit Lipton teas. Reception staff are brief but efficient, & provide a cold breakfast takeaway box, if you’re leaving before 7am.

The hotel is located opposite the railway station (4 - 5 minutes' walk). Upon arrival at the airport we took a taxi to the hotel and were ripped off by being charged about £25 for the 6km. journey, For the return journey to the airport we took the train; the fare - payable on the train - journey time 7 minutes - was about 75p each. Some difference!! We had paid a small supplement for a room with a view. This was well worth it as we were on the top floor and had a magnificent view over the old town. The room was fairly standard - basic, but spotlessly clean with a nice shower room. Breakfast was buffet style with a wide range of choices. Didn't try the hotel restaurant for dinner as we ate out in the local restaurants. The staff at Reception all spoke good English and were helpful. We booked our excursions through them and were picked up at the hotel. However, they only offered 2 excursions - a city tour of Vilnius and a visit to the magnificent castle at Trakai. The hotel is fairly close to the Gates of Dawn and the huge covered market; just a little further is the Town Hall and a little further still the Cathedral - all within comfortable walking distance.

nice fassade and lobby - the elevators and rooms are still soviet style - ultra-soft beds - there are better hotels in vilnius for that price

“Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis”

- Das Hotel liegt wenige Schritte vom Hauptbahnhof Vilnius. Hier verkehrt der Vilnius-Airport-Zug. Ausserdem fährt von dort überwiegend alle 10-20 Minuten die Buslinie Nr.1 zum Flughafen. Direkt vor dem Hotel ist eine Bushaltestelle für den Kaunas Airport-Express, der jeweils passend zu/von den Ryainair-Flügen verkehrt. Ebenfalls ist in wenigen Schritten das Fernbus-Terminal (Eurolines, Toks, Ecolines) erreichbar. In 10-15 Minuten ist die Altstadt zu Fuss erreichbar. Zahlreiche Bus-und Trollielinien verkehren vom Hauptbahnhof aus in das Finanzzentrum von Vilnius. - Der Hotel-check-in verlief schnell. Das Hotel macht optisch zwar einen eher sozialistischen Bauweise Eindruck, aber es war wie auch das Zimmer sauber. Zudem war das Zimmer recht geräumig, gut ausgestattet, nicht abgewohnt, ruhig und hatte einen tollen Blick auf die Altstadt. Das Frühstück war jedoch eher aussreichend anstatt üppig. Das gesamte Personal empfand ich als zurückhaltend, aber dennoch freundlich.
