“Perfect Location in Vilnius”

Hotel Tilto, three star, small hotel (capacity 72 guests). Only two minutes walk to the Katedra and its Bell Tower, and thus on the edge of Vilnius Old City and Gedemino Avenue leading to the business centre. Great location. Some good restaurants nearby (Sue's Indian Restaurant, Zoe's Cafe, and Prie Katedra, a monastic micro-brewery in a cellar on Gedemino). Hotel in a fully converted building, beautifully restored (2006?), with lift, and automatic stair lighting. Breakfast rooms in basement with brick vaulted ceilings - good buffet, I liked the coffee. Owner is Irish, you are welcome to drink a Guinness in the cellar bar (I had a Clontarf single malt whiskey). My bedroom was splendid, clean, well equipped, although quite small. Bathroom good, no tub, but heated towel-rail. Room with flat-screen TV (CNN the only English-language program, but numerous continental languages). Front desk staff speak excellent English and are great, very helpful. Hotel is very good value. Out the main door, turn right, and enjoy Vilnius.

“Decent, not good”

I stayed in this hotel to watch the Eurobasket games convinced from the reviews that this was an excellent choice. It proved to be a decent hotel but with some minor issues. For example there was no way to heat the room (central heating was off) so if you like it cold fine, if not, tough! The TV in the room was far too small (didn't think Samsung made them so small anymore) with only one English channel (CNN), there was no fridge and the shampoo/body foam were not to be used... On the positive side, friendly members of staff, free WiFi throughout the hotel (and inside the room) and very good location for most of the sight-seeing.

“Great Vilnius location”

We stayed one night, prior to very early flight time, so didn't have breakfast. Nice room and bath. Elevator available - important for heavy luggage, and not available in all small European hotels. Desk clerk very helpful. For a Vilnius stay, would be great, as it is a block or two from the cathedral and walking distance to Old Town and many other sights and restaurants. They will arrange for a taxi to the airport at a price less than doing it on your own - not to mention that it's there for you at the scheduled time. This was important to us at 4:30 a.m.! Good value for the money.

“De-luxe - not quite!”

We booked a de-luxe room and were disappointed with it. Yes, it was large enough for an arm chair, sofa and table and was tastefully decorated in line with the website photos. It was also kept clean. But there were two drawbacks. The bed was very wide and the bottom sheet was not large enough so it came adrift during the night. The large duvet was OK but they didn't have a bedspread large enough for the whole bed so used two singles overlapping each other. Secondly the shower was over the bath and there was no shower curtain or enclosure so the floor got flooded after each shower. A minor point - breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. OK - the hotel is not expensive and without these drawbacks I would have been satisfied. Next time I shall have to pay more!

The Hotel Tilto was clean and the staff friendly and eager to help. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely great. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. It was a great place to stay and I enjoyed my ten day stay there.
