The service was flawless with staff super attentive to our needs, our questions, and our requests. The hotel only has 12 rooms so there’s a lovely sense of intimacy. The rooms are beautifully decorated with very tasteful items, they have a lot of light coming through and an feeling of openness with the stunning view of the sea and the French doors on two of the walls of the room. Our room also had a veranda with chaises that were handy on evenings when we sat out and looked at the stars while smoking cigars and drinking beer. The hotel arranges all transfers to and from the airport – which I think it’s always a nice add-on as it takes away the hassle of sorting transport in a foreign country. We had dinner once in the hotel restaurant and it was very good too although we also tried others outside of the hotel. Continental breakfast is included but if you want eggs or bacon, there are extra charges. Overall, super satisfied and we would recommend without reservations.
Excellent location, beautifully situated on almost empty golden sand beach. Fabulous food (especially sea food) but service a bit hit and miss a la 'Fawlty Towers". Also although the hotel website advertises itself as a 'spa resort' -NO spa exists or spa service offered, NO internet connection available 9also advertissed on website) and although rooms kitted out with super flat screen TV only 4 Portuguese channels available. That said we loved it and had a gorgeous laid back, relaxing, hassle free week - who needs internet or tv?
By the way warning about 4x4 needed to drive there is spot-on - practically through sand dunes.
