Good hotel at a perfect location. The employees are very friendly (all of them) . The check-in and out was quick .
the room was just perfect, nice decorated, clean and cool AC. The art in the hotel was very nice ( maybe it is not your taste but it was mine and you can not make everyone happy) . The food in the restaurant was good and the coffee just perfect, The concierge helped you with anything you needed. Overall just a perfect hotel !!!! I will recommend this hotel to everyone. GOOD JOB AND THANK YOU.
Modern city-centre hotel, open from April 2006, situated opposite the Pharo Conference centre, 500 metres from the harbour …More
I had a great experience at this hotel. It is in a perfect location, and the staff is very accommodating and willing to give directions or suggestions. I had a great experience here and definitely recommend it
Stayed in Marseille at the Sofitel for 4 nights in a superior room. The room had a harbour view and was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a pleasant outside bar area where we had a pre-dinner drink in the evenings. Be warned the drinks are expensive as is the breakfast if you do not have breakfast included. We preferred to walk to the many cafes and have breakfast there people watching. Did not eat at the hotel but heard the restaurant is good.
I splurged for a room with a large terrace overlooking the old port. Top floor. The terrace had no roof. In the middle of the night I would lie in one of the two lounge chairs and gaze up at the moon over the lights of the harbor. Excellent location for a tourist. Small lobby, but who cares. People behind the desk spoke perfect english and were very helpful. I went to a different, higher rated hotel for breakfest to get more variety.
We stayed for 7 nights at Novotel Vieux Port. We travelled with our young daughter and next time, we will get the bus from the Metro station as it is a stiff uphill walk in 30C heat for a 7 year old! The hotel adjoins the Sofitel and appears to share its pool with the Sofitel. Turning left out of the hotel, you walk alongside a fairly busy main road and cross a busy junction before getting to the old harbour. Turn right and you can walk to the nearby Catalans Beach. This area has lots of local shops and a couple of supermarkets where you can stock up on wine, water and snacks.
We only had dinner in the hotel once but the breakfast buffet was unlimited and you can certainly fill up before you start your day!
For what we paid, this hotel represents good value and is in a good location from which to explore Marseille. There is a bus stop across the road which has frequent services into the city centre, Vieux Port metro station and the Gare St Charles train station. Public transport here was affordable and frequent.
