“too far from everywhere”
Bad ..Bad ..Bad place to stay in Vienna.. too far from city center.Too much construction going around this hotel. Too far from the subway.Too dark at night.DO NOT STAY HERE!
“Breakfast is rich, free internet service is unavailable”
My wife and I stayed at this hotel on 26, 27/Oct and 08/Nov for our honeymoon. Breakfast is rich as every reviewer said. The only down side is they do not provide free internet service and internet fee is expensive. We had a small room for the first 2 nights, but had a huge room after we had come back from Budapest. The receptionist remembered us when we came back from Budapest, and that make us feel we are home again. Transport is convenient, about 10 min walk from "Sudtiroler Platz". There are metro, rail bus, suburban city train in "Sudiroler Platz" this station. If you want to go to city centre "Stephan-Platz", it takes 4 stops there include the first station. For Seegrotte half day tour, you will need to take suburban city train from "Sudiroler Platz". One rail bus stop to "Belvederegarten", just get off "Sudbahnhof" and take a walk toward north then you will be there. I will recommend this hotel. If I go to Wien, I will stay at this hotel again definitely.
“PrinzEugen Vienna”
The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff are helpful and multi lingual. The Continental breakfast is basic (as expected) but well-stocked and more-than acceptable. The only downside was my room size was pretty small. The rooms were nice and quiet, even with construction going on nearby. The hotel is about a 3km walk from St. Stephen's, but only 150m from the U1 line directly into the city. My experience here was very nice. I would readily recommend it to any Vienna-bound travelers.
“warm room”
Nice hotel but, room was very warm. The only way to cool the room was to open the windows and the traffic was loud, too loud to sleep. It was like living under a highway bridge. If the a/c could have been turned on it would have been an ok stay.
“It was ok staff on desk were helpful”
The hotel was ok ,when we arrived there was only one staff on and no chance to get a coffee their was no coffee in room
“nice hotel”
This hotel is great. Especially for the price. Our room was huge and very quite as it was back from the door and hallway. The bartender was extrememly helpful and saved me a lot of money by telling me different discounts I could get on tours and train tickets. The entire staff was very helpful. However the comments I read before I went said the airport bus stops at the south train staion near the hotel so I took it. This bus no longer stops at the south train station. The south train station is under construction and not running as usual. There is another staion near the hotel that can be used for going downtown so the only inconvenience is the airport. This hotel will be very conveniently located when the new huge train station is finished. The only tiny complaint I have is the breakfast starts a bit late. Our tours picked us up at 6:30 in the morning and that's when the breakfast starts. They did however always let us in early to eat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Just fine”
ok hotel, good location, good price
“excellent spot to see klimt's works and get to know vienna!”
Enjoyed my stay at Prinz Eugen, especially its close access to underground routes and the Belvedere. Room was teeny-tiny, but who wants to stay in the room for more than sleep, anyway? Breakfasts were very nice w/ good variety of edibles. I'd certainly stay here again, and recommend it to friends!
“Good choice for a short business stay”
This is a good hotel for business travel and reasonably priced by Vienna standards. It is opposite the Vienna south station which is currently being demolished (Vienna airport and Bratislava trains still use this station). I recommend you spend a little extra and upgrade to a garden facing room as i did. The hotel has a small bar but does not have its own restaurant. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and if it is raining as it was during my stay there is an excellent pub restaurant about 50 metres from the hotel. The Ubf (metro) is about 300 metres and takes you to the city centre sites very quickly. Only down side was that Internet connection is not cheap.
“Basic, but pleasant and very friendly”
Initial impressions were rather disappointing, but that really didn't do the hotel justice. The staff were efficient and friendly, and the room, although very small, was comfortable and clean. The breakfasts again were good rather than outstanding, but overall the stay was fine. If you are expecting luxury, look elsewhere, but if what you're after is a clean, friednly base, this will do the job! Being located opposite the Sudbahn-Hof means a one stop bus trip from the airport, and it's only a short walk from the U-Bahn too!
