“Great hotel in a convenient location”

On arrival, we were greeted by very firendly staff who were keen of offer help and services, a good start to our trip! We got a good deal on the hotel, the only thing I didn't like was the ceiling, unfortunately we were on the top floor hence the low / slanted roof. For a tall person this would present an issue on one side of the bed every morning! Overall cleanliness was excellent, no dusty surface or dirty glasses etc. Hotel is in a good location, just under 10mins walk to St Stephan's Cathedral which is a great place for meeting friends etc (very spacious). Included breakfast was good also, nothing fancy but tasted nice and is at least fresh! Room was quiet, perfect for recouperating energy for a busy day. Overall experience is great and would surely recommend this to anyone looking for a good value for money hotel in a superb location.

Getting there
Public transport is very good, no need to take any taxis around unless you are really in a rush. The primary mode of transport is on foot for city centre and by the U-lines for anything further. Note that if you are travelling to/from the airport, it's every 30mins so don't miss it or it's a cold wait (in November) for the train.
Getting around
If your day is just to walk around Innerstadt then simply don't both using the U lines or buy the 72hour (3day) pass. I made the mistake of buying one and used for only 1 day! Most Innerstadt area is easily walkable. Anywhere further than that then you should buy a 72hr pass, costing around 31euros.
Must see
- St Stephen's Cathedral - Schonbrunn - Walk-about Innerstadt at night+day
Shopping
- Luxury goods in Vienna is mighty expensive when compared to UK so don't bother - General souvenirs / food is reasonably priced
Dining
There are plenty of cafes around, in fact I've had my year's worth of cakes during the few days in Vienna. There are also plenty of nice restaurants to accomodate your price ranges.
Nightlife
- Everyday (except Sunday) you will be able to find something to do: shop, eat, sight-seeing etc. - Sunday, this is a different story, morning-mid afternoon there are "some" shops / restaurants to chose from. Night time, you'd best have chosen a restaurant that's open or already booked for theatre/opera otherwise there's not much to do except walk around and sitting in a cafe (that's open).
Events and shows
- Opera - and opera, that's what Vienna's famous for

“Attractive hotel; but some of the staff are off rude and unfriendly. Not impressed.”

It is a smart boutique hotel, slightly off the main streets in the city centre. Decor is smart, rooms are rather small, but spotlessly clean. As a single woman traveller you are used to getting the darkest and pokiest room in the hotel, this was no exception. Hotel reception staff are excellent; but some of the restaurant and housekeeping staff leave something to be desired. I checked out on a few minutes before noon, having made sure with reception that this was OK, as I had an early morning meeting. However, one of the waitresses from the restaurant knocked to make sure I was leaving and hadn't taken anything from the room. I felt very uncomfortable and I would not go back for this reason. Thank goodness I always bring my own toiletries! Heaven knows the reaction if I had used a bar of soap. You know, it is fine, but really you can find friendlier and nicer hotels with more amenities and better restaurant facilities. Room service stops at 10pm (not that great for a business hotel). Needs to improve. Some of the hotel staff need training in people skills.

Area recommendations
Can't say as I was there for a very short time and only on business.

“excellent hotel”

Just far enough away from traffic and pedestrians and opposite a litlle park. Staff were friendly and helpful in organising trips, breakfast plentiful and hotel clean light and airy. Easy 20 minute walk to the Opera house, and all the sights not far from there. We took a taxi from the airport, 20 mins Eu36,helpful driver who pointed out things to see. Took the airport bus back which is at Schwedensplatz, less than 5 mins walk, took 30 mins Eu7.

Area recommendations
Visited Schonbron palace but get there early as the ticket is timed but you can go into the gardens for free until your entrance time is ready. A must do. Visited the horse riding school in the morning to see them practicing. Took the hop on\off bus to Schonbron which we picked up at the opera house, there are 3 routes and they take you slightly out of the city to see additional sights and lots of history. Recommend. Visited Wachau\Danube trip through hotel
Getting around
WE used the hop on\off bus which was resonable and gave you a lot of history and took you out of town.

“The best European Hotel we ever stayed in”

The staff was exceptional, the rooms were large by European standards. It was close to almost everything, but far enough away to be in the main tourist area. Almost all sights are within walking. The breakfast buffet was great. If there was an issue, it was handled immediately and with professionalism. I would highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Vienna. We stayed 8 days and really enjoyed it.

Getting around
The trams, subways and buses are convenient. Buy the 72 hour Vienna Vard and the city is yours to explore.

“Quality in the centre of Vienna”

The hotel is very conveniently situated for the tourist, being only a 10-15 minutes of a leisurely walk from many tourist sites and the underground. Our room was spacious and the bathroom modern with all the amenities one expects from a quality hotel being available. The room was maintained to a high degree of clanliness as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast offered a wide choice of both hot and cold options, and the staff were very efficient. Checking in and out was straightforward, and the reception staff were knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. We strongly recommend this hotel without even a millisecond's hesitation.

“Perfect Location!”

This hotel was the perfect smaller hotel that was off the "hotel chain" path . . . very good service, location close to city center and excellent Metro location. Breakfast buffet was really good, with fresh food and nice choices, and the small bar area was perfect. Def recommend!

“Great hotel in the great city”

We stayed there for a week and felt that it was the best choice we made. Excellent hotel, very convenient location close to every point of interest, transportation and yet in a very quiet neighbourhood. Breakfast was included - 6:30AM to 11:00AM!!! Perfect variety and great taste! Well worth every penny!

“Fabulous hotel”

We spent 5 nights at this boutique hotel. The location was perfect for us - opposite a park, close to the metro and tram, quiet, easy access to all the main attractions of Vienna. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was spacious and the standard was very good. Breakfast was good and varied. We caught the metro to the airport at 11.50 eruos each - much cheaper than a taxi. This was our second stay at a K&K Hotel and we would happily recommend this hotel chain to anyone.

Area recommendations
I would recommend the area around the Rudolfsplatz because it is out of the high tourist traffic and yet close enough to all the attractions of Vienna either on foot or my metro or tram. It's a little sanctuary to come back to after the hustle and bustle.
Dining
You must have the giant snitzel at Figlmuller restaurant. Tea at Cafe Sacher and at Cafe Central for a touch of old world class. Restaurants called "Brezl-Gwolb" and "Griechenbeisl" for Viennese food recommended by hotel and super.
Events and shows
The Strauss and Mozart concert at Kursalon Wien. Get there early and get a good seat. Spanish Riding School - practice mornings cheaper and stay as long as you like.
