“Our second visit”

We went to the nestroy hotel by chance last July and stayed for three nights finding it a delightful hotel though quite a way from central Vienna. The public transport system was so good this was no problem to us. The rooms we stayed in were in the main part of the hotel and excellent modern and clean. Breakfast was great and reasonably priced. We returned in December but were placed in the annex across the road where the rooms were a little less modern and roomy but clean. Breakfast was just as good. We would return again to the nestroy hotel if a bargain could be found.

“Average Hotel in Vienna”

Hotel Nestroy is a nice Hotel. the rooms are good, and with very nice bathrooms. The resturant area does not have any particular items on the menu card. We had to find resturants in the surrounding area. But there is plenty resturants in the area. The personal was very kind and welcoming. The walk to the center of Vienna is about 15-20 minutes, which is ok compared to the prices to the hotels nearer.

When to go
In December ALL of Vienna is filled with christmas markeds with small nice houses selling all kinds of hand made items, and local snack foods, as well as Glühwein (a local warm drink with alcohol). The cityhall marked is the largest, and is 3 stops from Hotel Nestroy with the subway.

“Great affordable Vienna hotel”

The location of the hotel is great in terms of getting to the sites and from the airport. The neighbourhood is not Vienna's finest, but the centre of Vienna on the whole is stunning so that's not really a negative.... We got a room at the adjoining Imlauer, a nice modern hotel room which was clean and great for our stay. Only minor thing was that the cleaners didn't replace tea, mini-bar etc but that was really the only gripe.

“overall good”

pleased with the hotel,met all expectations.last day minor problem when asked for a cab to rail station early morning-mix up cab booked in error for airport,but otherwise overall good experience and happy to recommend hotel.

“A decent hotel”

Pleasant hotel, a very good deal for the prıce. Room was very new and clean, and surprısıngly large. The maın sıghts were a lıttle far for walkıng, gıven we were there ın cold weather, but the Underground was close by and very easy to use. Not luxury accommodatıon, but quıte a decent and legıtımate 4 star establıshment. We would recommend ıt.

“I like this hotel”

Location is not in the center, but in one subway station from the Stephan's dome. In one subway station is S-bahn station to airport. Hotel service was excellent, staff very friendly. I like station in this hotel.

“Really helpful and comfortable stay!”

Great hotel, really helpful and pleasant staff. We had a gift in our room for our Birthday. Room was clean and well decked! Was fine for all central locations

“Good value & comfortable”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Nestroy. The junior suite was spacious, clean & comfortable. The Hotel does not pretend that it is a 'full service' establishment which suited us fine. Only a 15 minute walk to Stepensplatz or 5min walk to nearest underground station meant it was very convenient. We ate breakfast in local Cafes instead of in the Hotel as it was expensive there. We would go back.

Area recommendations
Vienna is a great city that has a great & easy to use public transport system. Highlights for us were The Schonnbrunn Palace which is magnificent & well worth taking the guided tour, the Belvedere Palace which is a superb & easy to 'understand' art gallery with lots of Gustav Klimpt's paintings. The food & Beer were great!! The only disappointment was the Spanish Riding School - there wasn't a show on while we were there but you can pay 12 euros to see the horses being trained to music in the hall. A complete waste of money as the training was totally unstructured with each horse/rider doing what they pleased which wasn't much! An excellent city break!

“nice clean hotel with friendly staff”

Staff were helpful and friendly, most spoke very good english. Room was large, crib was already in the room even though we onlybooked it 2.5 hours earlier. Had radio as well as tv which had language options. We had a good stay
