“Wonderful and Romantic stay”

Hotel Bristol is a perfect hotel for seeing Vienna. It is perfectly situated just at the end of the pedestrian shopping area and right across from the Opera House. The service is top notch, the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, and the overall stay was perfect. I'll be staying at the Hotel Bristol everytime I go to Vienna.

Dining
Mama's Kitchen around the corner from the hotel is excellent. Good Viennois cooking, in a simple atmosphere. Great for lunch! And the Milk Bar in the park is a must visit, either for breakfast, lunch of afternoon tea/cheese. But make a reservation. We did not and ate at the bar and the service was terrible! But, the food and atmosphere are so good that you can almost overlook the service.

“good experience”

Really positive experience. Hotel very good position, very central. Staff lovely, couldnt do enough to help us enjoy our stay.

Area recommendations
The City is easy to walk around and find all the main sites; The Leopold Musuem and various state apartments and silver collections impressive. The Sky bar /restaurant terrace in the newly refurbished Stephanl department store definately worth a visit on a good weather day. Also, if you cant get tickets for the Vienna Opera, do as we did and get a table in the Opera Cafe opposite the hotel.... the live transmission on the wide screen tv .... all the atmosphere with dinner and comfortable surroundings.

“4 fantastic days in Vienna at Hotel Bristol”

The Hotel Bristol is a lovely hotel and the location was brilliant, you can walk everywhere from it. Vienna itself was gorgeous and although it was really cold we had clear blue skies and sunshin all the way. the rooms are very nicely furnished and comfortable. The only issue we had and it was only us and not our friends in the next room was that our room was right next door to the office where the housekeeping staff are located and we got woken up at 7.15am on 2 mornings because they were so loud. I did complain and it was ultimately dealt with by the manager Isabella who was lovely. The staff apologised and left us a lovely chocolate torte in our room by way of apology. We only had breakfast in the restaurant Korso but it was a lovely experience. Everything Euro is a bit on the pricey side at the moment so we ate out mostly. Fabulous cafes and restaurants and our best night out was at the Jazzlands club where we saw the Mojoblues - they were awesome! Food was good as well. Went to the Kursalon to a Mozart/Strauss concert which was brilliant. We were suprised that it included singers and dancers as well - well worth it. We bought the 'A' tickets without dinner at £59 euros. We will defintely go back to Vienna, it's beautiful, clean, amazing architecture and gardens and so much to do. We stayed 3 nights - I would have preferred 4 and still go back for a second visit.

“The Great Lady of the Opera”

The service and the tradition that you can only expect from the Lady of The Vienna Opera are present. Tradition, security, choice, style, availability and taste hand in hand with the most convenient in modern amenities. Great food and impeccable menu. The best of Vienna just at Lobby level.

Area recommendations
The surrounding pedestrian boulevards do actually take you through the entire history of the city from Cathedrals to the Imperial Palace, The Spanish riding School and the best choice in Austrian gastronomy and shopping. A better location is impossible.

“Superb!”

You cannot fault the Hotel Bristol for its location. It's right next to the Opera House and there is a tram stop right outside the front door, as well as an Underground station only a few steps away, making everywhere easily accessible. As for facilities, well, this place is second to none. There was plenty of storage and cupboard space in the room, as well as a desk and armchair. The complimentary water and fruit was a nice touch. As for the bed - wow!! I have never slept on such comfortable pillows in my life (goose down, I think). If I could have taken the bed home with me, I would! I have only one gripe, which concerns the cleanliness of the bathroom. When I arrived, there were hairs on the bidet and scales which were still there when I left three nights later. The concierge was extremely efficient. My travelling companion had a problem with the shower in her bathroom so she notified the concierge and, by the time she had got up to her room, there was someone there waiting to fix it - brilliant service. Although the hotel is right on the Ringstrasse, it is very quiet indeed and I was not bothered by noise at all.

Area recommendations
There are many wonderful things to see in the Innere Stadt so you don't need to go too far afield. However, it's well worth getting the Underground to the Schoenbrunn Palace (only a few stops from Karlsplatz).
Getting there
If you buy a Wien Karte, you can travel on the tram, bus and Underground using the one ticket for not much money at all. Get the card at the airport so that you can use the voucher inside to get a discount on your taxi to the hotel. When you are going home, beware of getting a taxi from outside the hotel back to the airport - it costs much, much more, as they charge you an extra €12 just for going to the airport (there's a tiny yellow sticker in the window to this effect). Instead, try to negotiate with the taxi service at the airport for someone to collect you.
