“Convenient good price.”

This hotel is not that close to the city centre, but it's vicinity to the train station makes getting aroun very easy. It is also close to the major shopping street in Vienna Mariahilfer Strasse. Parking situation is not great, parking at veru small garage in back of the hotel.

“hotel in Vienna”

located 2 blocks away from WestBahnhof was convenient, excellent breakfast buffet, good size room and very clean. Pillows (feathers) were so soft that they did not provide any support. Awkward set up for the sink and shower which are incorporated into the bedroom with only a glass division. This means when you are showering (if you are sharing the room with anyone) there is no privacy at all. There is no screen or shades or curtains, it's a see-through shower. The toilet is kept in a little totally isolated room. Unless you are an exhibitionist, most people like to have privacy when showering. The wifi connection in the room did not work. Even though a nice high end hotel, will not consider staying there again

“Good clean hotel”

Booked this hotel last minute so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and simple. The room itself was modern and spacious. The chocolate wafers and apples in the room were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the shower was very strong. Hotel is location very close to a Metro station and from there it was a quick ride to the centre of Vienna. There is also sparking water and apples at the reception area - a nice way to welcome new hotel guests. Would stay here again.

Area recommendations
The Metro system in Vienna is very good so any hotel close to a Metro station would be ok in my opinion.

“Very good hotel, convenient location”

We went to Vienna for a family weekend (with grown up daughter and husband). We were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms were spacious. The decor was rather plain brown but was well done. The best things were the superb breakfast and the location. Although the hotel is not in the city centre, access to all parts of the city was easy. The hotel is located close to the Westbahnhof which is a hub for trams and underground as well as overground trains. Its not a great location for fine dining. There are a few pleasant cafes/restaurants in the immediate vicinity but smarter ones can be reached by public transport.

Area recommendations
Its a wonderful city with so much to see nearly everywhere. The Naschmarkt on a Saturday morning is a great place to start the weekend. Its close to the Opera too.
Getting around
Buy a travel ticket for a period of time e.g. 48 or 72 hours - these are valid on trams, buses and underground.
Must see
The Belvedere art gallery - for the Kiss, and lost of truly wonderful paintings in a glorious Baroque palace

“Only the location was good”

Pros - good location if you are coming in from Westbarnhof station - breakfast buffet was decent - staff were friendly Cons - rooms are very dated, need a decent refurbishment - none of the amenities were replaced after the first night - only one tiny lift for all floors - carpets had stain markings all over - hallways had a stale smell to it

“Great place to stay: easy access to public transportation, fantastic view of the city”

Really happy with most of our stay. Great hotel staff and very clean and well decorated, well worth the price. Not really happy about parking 2 blocks away, but small price to pay for the central location.

“Fabulous Hotel close to train, convenient to sites”

We were really surprised at the high quality of this hotel. It was great value next to the Wien Westbahnhof station (not a great neighborhood but safe and convenient to train from Vienna and metro to central vienna). It's the first real 4-star that claims to be one that I've seen anywhere in Europe. all amenities and then some, including gym, steam room, sauna downstairs (tanning a bit extra). Funky see-through shower in middle of room. restaurant pricey, breakfast not included. friendly, professional staff.

Area recommendations
Hundertwasser houses and KunstHausWien were amazing treasures and a must see; Schloss Belvedere Oberes was also amazing for the house, grounds and art; Schonnbrunn is expensive and a bit overrated; young people meet at gorgeous outdoor terrace bars within the inner courtyard of the Museum Quartier at night in the summer, so you can meet people and enjoy; Cafe Dumel is expensive but amazing experience of Vienna coffee house/cakes; bars along Danube are nice in summer; Zentralfriedhof cemetary not really worth the trip unless you are really into seeing a cemetary/musician graves (not like the beautiful one in Lviv, for example), also a bit tricky to navigate once inside. after a day, I felt like I lived there--you can really escape the tourists and roam around like an Austrian; if you only want to party, it's great; if you only want quiet museum trip, also a lot of breathing room and you don't feel jostled around by hordes of people; Viennese people are not reserved at all, even though the books say they are--just talk to some and get invited to things; we had only 1 days, so only saw Schonnbrunn and walked around, so as not to be overwhelmed by museums--fabulous walking city just to take photos and absorb the vibe; but I went back for a day and the museums are amazing
When to go
even in July, it was rainy and chilly, though if dressed for the weather, I'm sure it's atmospheric at all times.
What to pack
umbrella, raincoat, extra layers
Dining
must have a pretzel and go to grand cafe for fabulous cakes (the best ever!!!). in summer, canal restaurants north of city center have live music.
Nightlife
inner courtyard of Museum Quartier is great student/young person hang out (at least in summer). but...Vienna is very, very smoky--inside and out.

“vienna first time”

Hotel was in a very handy location, close to train station for our onwards journey to Salzburg. Do not dine in the hotel restaurant, service is abysmal and the food is very ordinary. Once the novelty of the shower in middle of room wears off, its more of a hindrance. We asked the front desk for a good Thai restaurant, and guess what, incompetence reared its head again, sent to a Japanese eatery instead. If you are after great Thai, do not go past .bangkok-vienna at Joanelligasse 8. All up the hotel served its purpose, the breakfast was ok, but we both agreed the staff do need a lot more training to be able to satisfy even the simplest of requests.

“"Can stay again"”

The hotel is nicely located in central Vienna with Westbahnhof station very close to it. Rooms are clean and staff is polite and helpful. The on site restaurant serves elaborate breakfast that probably suits to all tastes. The stay, no doubt is value-for-money.
