“Good Hotel - Average Location”

The Atlantis is clean and characterless modern hotel. It is in a slightly seedy part of town with a downmarket shopping centre next door and more worryingly girly bars right on the door step. It is a brisk 20 minute walk to the centre of town or several subway stops. The price is good, but for the short time you have in this beautiful city it should not be the first choice.

Area recommendations

The centre of Vienna is grand and magnificent at every turn. Museums, shops, churches, palaces - all magnificent, all immaculate. This is a truly great city that should be on everybody's "must-see" list.

“Perfectly adequate”

“Nice and clean, but small”

The hotel was nice and the staff friendly and helpful, it is located near to a metro station and close to supermarkets and a food court in a shopping mall so it was convenient to get anything you need. The hotel room was clean and nice, however a little bit small. During the nights the room was too hot, so I recommend opening the windows before you go to sleep. Right across the street there is a very nice small italian restaurant that my friend and I enjoyed. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Area recommendations

There are many nice places to visit, we spent two days and wasn't enough to cover the entire city, but definitely will recommend the Schonbrunn Palace and the downtown area.

“With conditions”

We spent 4 nights at the Atlantis and our experience was very positive. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was quietly situated, cleaned to a high standard and adequately equipped. Our reason for choosing this location was to visit friends who live in the area. For us it worked out very well because we know the area well. Otherwise, as the location is not at all attractive, for a first time visitor to Vienna it could be quite off putting. So, `would we recommend it to others?`, the hotel, certainly; the location probably not.

Area recommendations

As a tourist, stay as close to the first district as possible then most of the sights are well within walking distance. If you want to experience the excellent transport system then the Schonbrunn area, Grinzing, or Baden bei Wien are attractive locations.

“not impressed”

we asked and paid for a room with 3 double bed. what we got was 1 double bed, 1 single and an opening sofa. the answer to our request to move to another room was:"we dont have a room with 3 double bed..." we had a problems with the shower and the reception man came to check and clean...(no maintenance in this hotel?)

“Great Hotel, but parking could use signs.”

I enjoyed everything about the hotel, including the extra effort to provide information for guest requests The recommendations for tours was exactly what was needed, including that the tour company did not return you to your hotel but which trains to take. The only problem was that the hotel's parking was in the midst of the shopping mall's and the signage was bad. I ended up parking in one spot, then moving my car closer when I found where the hotel doors finally were located. And the hotel entry procedure to their elevators was not clear at all. I ended up walking up stairs with bags and out a door quite a distance from the hotel entry.
