We were welcomed immediately, provided easy check in, maps, keys. To our surprise and joy, we found a bouquet of fresh roses and a bowl of fresh fruit in each of our two reserved rooms. The rooms are small, but quiet and comfortable. Check out was easy with great assistance getting a taxi. Breakfast was also good, varied, fresh and convenient. I would return to this hotel and would recommend it to friends. Location cannot be beat.
This was my first trip to Vienna and I really enjoyed it. The hotel is in the center of the old town and it is convenient to all of tourist spots. Both the exterior and the interior the hotel is pretty and I enjoyed its atmosphere. The room is clean and neat and the staff is well trained. I would like to come back to this hotel soon.
"Nice hotel but not all rooms are air conditioned"
We arrived on a 90 degree day and were told the only rooms with AC were all taken. Everyone was very nice and they told is they would try to change or room the next day, but we spent a pretty uncomfortable night. The next day we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and by noon they had changed us to a room with AC. The rooms were lovely and the staff was professional, friendly, helpful and spoke English. Another thing to keep in mind is that, while they do a great breakfast and have limited room service, they have no restaurant on the premises.
Was only there two nights. The single room I stayed in was well set out and faced an inner courtyard where breakfast was served. The windows were large and the rooms were airy, not hot or stuffy (of course it helped that the weather was also excellent). There was an excellent range of food and drink available at breakfast and a delightful ambience. The location of course, between Stephansplatz and Karlsplatz is ideal. And I've just realised that the hotel is within walking distance of CAT (City Airport Train) - which I wish I knew when I first arrived! The internet worked and the room rate was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Importantly the things which were slightly annoying weren't particularly annoying. So they use metal keys instead of key cards and the single obvious lift was tiny and slow, but I was travelling light
Staff were efficient and friendly, the room was very clean, air-conditioning worked a treat, and the hotel is only a short 10 minute walk to Stephendom and public transport is just round the corner. The rain shower was great and the beds very comfortable. Small room with a double bed, but what more do you want when there is a City to explore.
Three nights in Vienna and I could have stayed a year and still not be bored. The Post is walkable to everything and I did a lot of it. Dom, Opera, Stadt Park, Shops, Freud Musee, Rathaus, Beethiven Platz - when I wasn't on the Red, Green (5 minutes from Post) or Yellow buses. The room is not air conditioned but on 5th floor the open window is better. No traffic noise just a beautiful breeze.
Most travellers to Vienna will spend the majority of their time exploring the Innenstadt (centre). Neatly circumscribed by the Ringstrasse, this area is largely pedestrianised, with quaint cobbled streets and medieval squares. The city's focal point is the Gothic spire of the Stephansdom and key attractions include the huge Hofburg palace and the Spanish Riding School.
