“Conveniently located”
Staff were very helpful. Continental breakfast was available early for people travelling to the airport. Stairway upstairs reeked of smoke although the rest of the building appeared to be smoke free.
“GOOD VALUE”
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT FROM THE RECEPTION TO THE COMFORT OF THE ROOM. BREAKFAST WAS NOT GREAT. GOOD VALUE AND LOCATION WORKED OUT FOR US. WOULD DEFINATELY BOOK AGAIN.
“Convenient location but overpriced”
This hotel was acceptable but we had a few issues. The toilet was blocked when we arrived. The desk clerk brought up a plunger but said all he ever does is drop it off, it was up to us to plunge the toilet. When my ten year old grandson and I asked the front desk about the associated restaurant we were given directions, but it turned out to be a pub with no family seating area. There were several other restaurants close by so this was not a huge issue, but what was he thinking. Overall, I would expect better service for the price.
“Good Value for Travellers with Pets”
On Thanksgiving weekend, Victoria hotel rooms are scarce and expensive, so our last-minute family visit had me worried we might not be able to find affordable, clean, pet-friendly accommodation. Fortunately, the Victoria Airport Travelodge, located in the Victoria suburb of Sidney, had a pet-friendly room available at a reasonable price. The hotel is just off the highway to Victoria, 10 minutes from the BC Ferries terminal and 30 minutes from Victoria, close to attractions like Butchard Gardens, Butterfly World, golf courses and, of course, the Victoria Airport. The dog-friendly town of Sidney, with its book and antique stores, restaurants, and beach began at our doorstep, 20 minutes from the beach. The quiet neighbourhood behind the hotel was a great place to walk our dogs. A premium supermarket, a liquor store, a fast-food outlet, and a pub with a good selection of on-tap brew and good food were just a few steps away. Our ground floor room, facing the quiet internal courtyard and heated pool, was clean and well maintained, with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free (and reliable) high speed internet and two new queen size beds. The included continental breakfast, served in the lobby between 5 and 9 am, was better than most airport hotels. The friendly and helpful staff made us feel at home. If you're looking for a clean, affordable, pet-friendly hotel, and you don't mind being a short drive from the city, this hotel is a great place to stay!
“Good for an airport connection.”
For access to the Victoria airport as well as Sidney this is a good bet.
“Victoria's Hidden Gem”
Great value, friendly staff, perfect location especially if you are flying into Victoria. Not a complaint, very pleasant surprise, would definitely recommend this to other travellers.
“Depends on what you want”
The computer was a pay by the session contraption which I have never seen before having always been provided with free service to print out items in other venues. The continental breakfast was disappointing - fridge cold boiled eggs, two cereal dispensors( cornflakes and some puffed stuff), bowl of tired bananas, two loaves of store bought bread, cookies and muffins set out near a toaster and a small selection of yogurt. There was a coffee/hot water dispensor. It is convenient to airport with a free shuttle and close to the ferry to the mainland if that is all you want, but it is not up to what I would call frequent traveller airport standards. People from the 'continent' would not recognize the breakfast.
“There has to be something better”
I travel extensively on business and try to stay in Victoria before flying. The sole reason is because I have not found a hotel near the airport that is very good. The beds are uncomfortable and hard. The front desk clerk on all three occassions that I have stayed here are not friendly at all. Actually they are very grumpy, which I think is very unlike BC people. The walls are thin. All in all this hotel needs an upgrade in all cases. The rates also for this standard of hotel are quite pricey, is my opinion. If I didn't have to fly at 6 a.m., I would not have stayed and this time will not return
“Perfect for the airport or ferry terminal”
If you're looking for a location convenient to Victoria airport or the ferry terminal this is in an excellent location and reasonable value for money. Wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay, although Sidney is a beautiful, quiet town.
“Definitely Convenient”
This hotel is really easy to find - just off the Pat Bay Highway on Beacon Ave., which is Sidney's main drag. It is within easy walking distance of the downtown shops and malls, and it's only 4 minutes from the Schwartz Bay ferry to Vancouver. The room was comfotable and quite quiet, although there was a pub nearby, which created some noise late at night. Parking was a little difficult later in the evening, but there were enough spaces once the pub cleared out. The people working there were friendly and attentive, and the make- your- own continental breakfast was light but satisfactory. The price was reasonable, and I would book a room at this place again.
