Amazing!

Expected to be underwhelmed, as couldn't get into my favourite hotel. But, completely overwhelmed; exceed every expectation entirely! My new favourite; can't wait to return!

Excellent accommodations.

Enjoyed a short stay. Very comfortable rooms. A/C noisy however and had to shut off for sleep, but no problem with room temp at night. Otherwise nice hotel. Would benefit clients if there was a lounge however.

Modern, luxurious, comfortable Hotel

Posted 05-Sep-2014
Pros: It is so modern and new. I like the proximity to downtown and the on site perks such as the pool and breakfast available.
Cons: The hair dryer needed replaced.
Location: Inner harbour. Legislature buildings, downtown shopping, restaurants, pubs, the water taxis.
This was our second stay at this hotel. It is so close to downtown we just park our car in the hotel underground parking and walk everywhere. Our room was beautifully furnished.

Good location. Walking distance to many resturants

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, staff were pleasant.
Cons: Full length mirror in bedroom, better sound proofing, more comfortable mattresses.
The hotel was not as comfortable as to be expected. Rooms were loud. You could here showers, doors slamming, traffic outside and noise from other suites. The room smelled like food cooking every day especially in the morning. Suite must have been above restaurant. Mattresses were not comfortable and the room had no mirrors with the exception of one small mirror in the bathroom. There was a party on the floor where we stayed that went until 4:00 am. There seemed to be no attempt to shut it down by hotel staff.

Nice hotel, great location but...

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Room was not clean, unacceptable at this price point. Kitchen cabinet handles hadn't been cleaned in a long time, refuse under the appliances and someone's toe nail clippings on the outside deck, yuck.

Lacking quality

Posted 01-Sep-2014
Pros: 2 bathrooms and the living room with kitchen. Convenient to downtown. The Coy fish.
Cons: Service, cleanliness, and overall quality.
Location: Easy walk to downtown restaurants, waterfront and landmarks.
Although the location was convenient, I was disappointed with this hotel overall. There was a lack of service from the get go and our room wasn't clean. I found hair in several places and the floors and walls weren't clean. The quality of the furniture and appliances was sub par and the hours of the on site food venue and pool, gym, etc. were limited. The front desk staff wasn't very friendly or empathetic. The full kitchen was my reason for booking the Parkside and the fridge didn't work well. I expected a green hotel to have "green" cleaning products for the kitchen, but it didn't. The sofabed was extremely uncomfortable and noisy, as was the room itself being on a busy street. We had to keep windows open for some type of air circulation (no air conditioning), which made sleeping unrestful. The fan didn't little to help. During our last night, there was a wedding reception below our room and sleep didn't come easy with the pounding music. When I requested a later check out I was denied by the front desk staff. One extra hour would have been helpful and a nice gesture. Unfortunately, it added another sour note to my stay and left me very unsatisfied. I will not stay there again.

Excellent apart-hotel close to tourist district :D

Posted 31-Aug-2014
Pros: The suites are practically like apartments, so you feel very much at home; using the kitchen reduces the need to eat out in Victoria.
Cons: Loud at night, partly due to traffic from proximity to tourist district and partly from the hotel's rooftop garden (unsure if an event was going on).
Location: Walking distance (~5 min) to Inner Harbor and rest of the tourist district; try to not drive and instead take a ferry or a seaplane from Seattle.
Just had an excellent stay at the Parkside Spa/Hotel prior to a biking event in Victoria. It is easy to get to from ferry terminals, well-located relative to tourist attractions, large-sized suites and good amenities. Definitely our go-to for our next time in Victoria, and it will be strongly recommended to friends/family as well.

No air conditioning, disappointing service

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: This hotel is a lovely, spacious, modern property in an excellent location. Close to bus routes, downtown, and Dallas Road and Beacon Hill Park.
Cons: The attention to detail and caring when we expressed our concerns was frustrating. We wanted to be heard and treated better.
Location: The café connected to the lobby is delicious.
Having worked for Delta Hotels for 7 years, this was a disappointing experience. Due to the length of our stay we called in advance and requested one of their "preferred view" rooms. When we checked in we were lied to and told that we had been upgraded when what we were "upgraded" to was in fact what we originally booked. We were then informed that we did not qualify for an upgrade because of the length of our stay. When we got into our room there was a letter which I found condescending. It informed us that should we find it too hot in the room we should open our windows, close the curtains during the day, and other suggestions that anyone who lives in an apartment is aware of. It is also very noisy downtown so open windows makes for a difficult sleep. Apparently none of their rooms have air conditioning which was a facet of my holiday I was really looking forward to. All of our interactions with staff were frustrating because it seemed like they did not listen. Our parking pass was not done correctly, when we checked out we were told emphatically that we had extended our stay and thus owed them money, which was not the case, and on one day we had a birthday plate delivered to our room when it was not mine, nor my partner's birthday. It is a beautiful property but the lack of attention to detail was overwhelming.

Very nice but.....

Posted 23-Aug-2014
Pros: The furnishing and comfort factor except for air conditioning.
Cons: Provide centralized air conditioning to keep temperature at a comfortable level when required. Provide full size mirror in rooms and HD channels on TV
Location: Close to harbour and lots of restaurants and shopping.
It is well equipped and well laid out modern hotel without air conditioning that is a problem ona hot summer day. Every thing else was comfortable. However I may not return to this hotel again in the summer days.
