Romantic Hotel with Amazing Staff!

Posted 26-Mar-2015
Pros: BEAUTIFUL AMBIANCE, feels like a luxurious home away from home.
Cons: Not a single thing, stay exactly the way you are!
Location: Lots of great eateries and seafood nearby, as well as the old Parliament building and a museum! A fun city to visit, for sure!
I'm not usually one to stay in hotels, but after camping in Canada for 3 nights prior, it was time to get a shower, a nice bed, and a warm room. Checking into this hotel felt like checking into heaven! Beautiful ambiance and AMAZING room! Everything felt so clean, well managed, and taken care of. The staff at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. Here's an example. My boyfriend and I tried to wash some clothes in the mini washer/dryer in our room, when I realized that it wasn't working and our clothes were now locked in there. I called downstairs, and within five minutes a serviceman was up in our room trying to repair the washer/dryer. Turns out, it wasn't connected to the water, so the serviceman ended up taking all of our dirty clothes and had them washed and dried!! Our clothes were perfectly clean and ready for us before we checked out the next day. I couldn't believe this service!

Very nice

Everything was excellent. Extremely affordable. There is no room service, that is the only thing that could have made our stay any better.

Very beautiful hotel and quick walk to down town. Great pool and movie theatre. Wished room service was an option though.

Excellent vibe from staff upon arriving. Questions answered quickly. Excellent suggestions about nearby restaurants. However, a significant downside: huge space for claw foot tub, but too small shower.

The separate bedroom was very helpful for our family. Its a little worn but clean and comfortable. The pool is pretty deep on all sides so little little kids have to be held. And the only drag was we paid more through Expedia than if I had checked in with our companies corporate rate. We enjoyed our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was cheerful and accommodating. Room was as lovely as the photos and very comfortable. Would most definitely stay there again.

Extremely comfortable stay close to downtown

The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the room was very new with awesome amenities such as a clawfoot tub and heated floors in the bathroom. The lobby, pool, and hot tub were all very impressive as well, and there is a nice background noise of the pond/fountains that wind around the property. Location is two or three blocks from the harbor and the famous Empress Hotel. The room had two televisions with cable, although no dvd players or pay per view (that was fine with us). The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and provided a free toothbrush/toothpaste amenity, as I had forgotten mine. The kitchen was also well stocked for cooking. We didn't try the sofa bed.

Your home away from home - and more!

Pros: What I liked best about this hotel was the location and the ease of getting around Victoria and feeling very relaxed.
Cons: As mentioned, check-in could have been much better. The two towers are confusing when you are coming in after parking your car.
Location: Location fabulous. Beacon Hill is a must see. Lot of restaurants close by.
If you want a great location, close to Beacon Hill park, restaurants, down town, this is the place for you. Lobby is very modern, very oasis-like. Nice pool and hot tub for you to relax in. The room was spacious and had everything you could possibly need. Front desk could be a little more helpful in explaining the "A" tower and the "B" tower at check-in. Got a little lost after we parked our car. Great coffee shop connected to the hotel.
