Excellent Place to stay in central Victoria

Posted 26-Aug-2014
Pros: Almost every thing an excellent stay in central but quiet location, at a moderate price.
Cons: Check in time 3 pm arrived tired from long drive and navigation in new city in hire car at approx. 3.45 pm room not ready yet. Waiting in bar area 4pm
Location: Central Victoria, to eat 10 Acres. Street performers, inner harbour, Royal British Columbia Museum, Parliament Buildings, Shops TIC all close.
A modern very well equipped hotel. It was great to have a luxury bathroom with separate bath, shower and 2 bathrobes. We had been self catering so it was useful to have a small fully equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture in our room. It was an excellent base for seeing to top tourist attractions and we did a mixture of eating out, eating in and self catering.

Lovely and close to inner harbour

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff, the look of the room.
Cons: Nothing
Location: We walked to the inner harbour and watched the dragonboat races. Walked to the Imax theater and Spagetti Factory. Everything was within minutes.
The hotel staff were friendly and were happy to help with any questions. The room was lovely! Cozy and updated, like a small condo, we loved it! They let us park underground early, as we were early by a few hours. Close to the inner harbour, location was perfect, just back a bit so it was quieter. We will definitely stay there again when in Victoria! When out, the staff turned down our bed and left us some of their wonderful infused water.

Best hotel I've ever stayed in.

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: They are beyond improvement.
Location: It was nice to be a bit tucked away from the noisy hubbub and yet just a few minutes walk from the enjoyable sights.
The Oswego is an exceptionally lovely hotel. The staff is welcoming and competent. They went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. The rooms are spacious and aesthetically beautiful. They are equipped with an attractive and well functioning kitchen. The bed was quite comfortable and it was great to have a balcony with a view of the Parliament Building. Lit up at night, it was stunning.

Great location a block from the legislator.

Very comfortable beds, furniture with full kitchen. The restaurant has a great gluten free menu and the chef easily adjusts other meals to accommodate dietary needs. My wife enjoyed it so much she wants to accompany me on all my business trips........not sure that's a good thing;-)

More than expected

Posted 12-Aug-2014
It was an awesome experience. When I booked looking at the pictures and reading reviews, my expectations weren't that high. The hotel is perfectly located and it's modern and beautiful. Loved it. My only complain it's with the shades. They let the light in in the morning.

Easy walking distance to most everything.

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Pros: Very quiet and peaceful. Located in residential area, and when we returned each day if felt like we were going home rather than back to a hotel.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Use your travel guide as we did, but DO NOT miss Craigdarroch Castle.
Very close to inner harbor on the north with all of the attractions it holds, and the beach, bluffs, and ocean front parks in the south. Easy walking.

Close to downtown, walking distance.

Pros: See above
Cons: Studio room has an air conditioner with a vent hole output into the window which causes a problem with blinds not closing. Very bright first thing AM.
Location: Downtown, close to harbour, parliament building, shopping, paths, etc
Boutique hotel experience was very nice. Recommend.

Good Service is Always in Style

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious.
Location: Located in a quiet residential neighborhood only two blocks from the Inner Harbor and walking distance to all the attractions.
The Oswego Hotel bills itself as a "chic" and "urban" hotel. This seems to be what a lot of the newer hotels want to brag about these days, and make no mistake, the Oswego is a cool-looking hotel with all the right sleek and contemporary fixings. However, that is not this hotel's true strength. The Oswego's true strength is its ability to provide good old-fashioned customer service. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff extremely professional and helpful. This hotel provides spacious accommodation in Victoria that is within walking distance of all the attractions. I can't think of any reason you would want to stay anywhere else.

Nice Stay in Victoria

Posted 02-Aug-2014
Pros: The staff was friendly. The room had a good layout, with a kitchen, and full-size fridge.
Cons: Spa services are only offered in-room. Additionally, the room had some visible wear and tear.
Location: The hotel was located in that good blend of proximity to tourist centers and a quiet neighborhood.
The Oswego offers nice one and two bedroom rooms close to the inner harbor, but away from the hustle and bustle. Dining on-site was adequate, but again the hotel is close enough to the inner harbor to provide access to premier dining locations. The room was clean but had some light staining on the floors and could become stuffy during the day. However, the hotel staff was accommodating, the room was comfortable overall, and the hotel had underground parking and a laundry room. A good place to stay with kids.
