Exactly what we were looking for!

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: The environment. The beds are extremely comfortable!
Cons: Get rid of the watersaver shower heads it hard to enjoy a morning showere when you have to work to get wet!
Within a short walk to the water front. Friendly staff and a quiet environment, so spending time together is easy to do with the busy streets. By the water front there is lots to see and lots to do for just about everyone! I can’t wait to get back and do this all over again

Old Hotel needs upgrading

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Friendly front desk staff, and conveniently located for walking downtown Victoria.
Cons: Total room redone, redecorated, better beds
Location: Close to all downtown shopping, Parliament Buildings, Inner Harbour, fisherman's warf.
Our room looked very outdated, with chipped paint, old TV, faded bedding, scratchy blanket, tiny little fan, hard beds etc. We did like the convenient location so close to downtown.

Close to wharf

The hotel has a great location. The room was clean and cute layout for an older hotel. You could hear others in your room and the hotel smelled funny. We had terrible wifi. The staff were polite if you got their attention and asked them to help. They were behind the wall when you needed to ask them for help. You ask them for info and they would have to ask others. They were nice just not attentive to their full job responsibilities, which should be the customers.

This an ideal location to be on the Inner Harbor.

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Easy to walk to all the sights we wanted to visit.
Cons: The breakfast buffet was not kept hot in the serving trays. Staff needs to keep the alcohol burners on and use a hot water bath under the food.
Location: Empress Hotel and Parliment Building very close. Also the tour buses stop very close.
Staff was helpful and friendly. We did not need to use our car. We ate all our breakfasts in the hotel and found evening dinners on Government Street that were very good.

Pros: Price and location.
Location: Close to inner harbor and fisherman wharf.
This hotel is old. Room is small. Bathroom needs a major upgrade. Bed is too soft.

Large hotel room

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Location acceptable, walking distance from bus, wharf, restaurants
Cons: I would have liked afternoon coffee/tea offered in lobby
Spent only one night here... Small kitchen area in the room, some rooms with balconies, nice breeze thru window with birds chirping, view of water fall...
