Excellent stay at the Grand Pacific Victoria

Posted 24-Feb-2015
Pros: Room, location and fair price
Cons: Shower/bath area seems a bit drab and dark when shower curtain is closed.
Location: On the inner harbour. Close to museum and downtown shopping and restaurants.
My room at the GP faced the harbour and had a small outdoor terrace with two chairs. The location is very convenient on the inner harbour, next to the legislative buildings and within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants. The room was very quiet and in perfect order with a vanity sink outside the bathroom as well as the vanity in the full bath. There was an in-room safe, as well as a small refrigerator(formerly a mini-bar, but now a fully functional place to store cool drinks or food). Room price includes wireless internet. Each day the GP has a $15 lunch special with an entrée, soup or salad and beverage included in the price. I tried this on two different days, and it was excellent - both food and preparation were first-rate. The hotel also has a pool, sauna and spa as well as a place to workout. Staff were all friendly and personable. I would certainly recommend the hotel and will stay there again in the future.

Pros: Helpful staff and a very comfortable room.
Location: Many local areas of interest plus, with a car, some beautiful country to explore.
Had an enjoyable two week stay. All staff were efficient and friendly. Hope to repeat the experience in the next year or two.

Great choice!

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Great professional and courteous staff always willing to do anything to make your stay fabulous!
Location: We love that there's a large variety of great restaurants and lounges. We love to go to the Bengal Room at the Empress for their specialty coffee.
We visit Victoria on a regular basis and have stayed at the Grand Pacific many times. We always stay in the one bedroom suite and have never been disappointed! The beds are comfortable and it's a great central location as we walk everywhere.

Valentines weekend

Posted 17-Feb-2015
We arrived early Friday morning way before check in time landing with harbour air. Immediately they helped us and since they didn't have a room that we requested they upgraded us to a premier suite.

Very nice hotel in a great location

Posted 13-Feb-2015
Pros: Great location, good rates for the quality of room, very clean, good services (coffee shop, spa, restaurant)
Location: Near the BC Royal Museum, 5 min walk from the Government street shopping area. Many restaurants are located near by. On the waterfront.
We recently stayed 2 nights at the hotel, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our first favorable surprise was that the hotel had upgraded us (for free) from a room to suite. The room was ready at 3 pm and found clean (as expected). The room (suite) was spacious, with a 2-sink bathroom, 2 TVs, fridge, etc. The hotel location is wonderful, ie adjacent to the Parliament building and a few minutes from down town and the BC Royal Museum. We had breakfast from the hotel coffee shop and also took advantage from the hotel Spa. Overall, great value for the price.

Great Location, Disappointing Hotel

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Dog friendly. Location
Cons: the room needs more care and cleaning. Clearly the lights, switches etc. hadn't been cleaned in a long time. hinges of doors are rusted with dust.
Location: Parliament bldg. next door, waterfront across the street, seawall to run on, museum close by
We had a couple of requests which the Manager accommodated us with but overall the room was not clean and overall the entire suite was quite run-down. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with water and parliament view which was great and the dog friendly atmosphere was quite. It was just the dustiness and uncleanliness of the room that put a damper on the stay. We thought it would be much more well maintained than what it was. I probably won't stay here again unless I read better reviews in the future.
